Re: the whole Nissa/Chandra thing, I don't think people are mad that there wasn't enough LGBT representation,
No its both. Wizards has made many positive strides in certain area for representation but much of it is in the background and support cast. Which is nice and needed but really feel shallow when the most recurring characters are mostly white and and default-ly straight and cis.

I think people are mad that they pretty much teased an LGBT relationship really hard and got a bunch of people really invested in it, and then pulled the football out of the way at the last minute. They didn't have to make them gay, but they shouldn't have promised their audience something they weren't going to deliver. I don't think anyone would be complaining if the characters had just always been straight.
Ya this queer baiting 101. The only reason its not worse is members of creative have come out and said the intention when putting together the Bolas arc was to have a slow burn friends into lovers storyline with Chandra and Nissa but that changed when the new Franchise team join/took around Ixalan/Dominaria.
