CL, what's the logical foundation of your argument? How, in your mind, did the scenario play out in such a way from your perspective?

Your lack of analysis in a dethy game is making me think I should look carefully in to what sort of trickery could result from you being Krampus, especially with regards to Aaarrrgh's results.

That's what I said. Neither CL nor Tevish can be krampus if the other is either sane or insane. But since both KoD and I have compromised results, neither of us can be same or insane either if we trust that Zinger was correct in his description of the cult mechanic.

So okay, here's a last ditch effort to explain what is going on: Zinger was wrong about cult, because Krampus wrote the message he received. This would require a Jack-in-the-box style krampus who can use a different ability each night. In which case he perhaps wings once he's used all of his abilities? I really don't know, this is just the best thing I can come up with right now. Basically, even after all of this, the only thing I know is that at least one of my basic assumptions is wrong, even though I have already adjusted those assumptions repeatedly as information has come in.

That's the simplest explanation of what we're seeing; however, as was the case with Zinger, I no longer think it is that simple.

If, IF, I maintain the perspective that CL is a Santa, then (with Zinger's elimination), that leaves Tevish and Arrgh as the only viable candidates to be Krampus with Arrgh being the simplest. Tevish, as Krampus, would be impossible with CL as a sane Santa.

If I maintain CL as Krampus, it could work if and only if Arrgh is the Insane Santa with alternating results (for whatever reason).

Arrgh's progression this entire game, to me, has been believable. That's why I have a hard time buying he is Krampus. CL, on the other hand, eh.

Don't get me wrong. I completely see why Arrgh would be Krampus. I completely get that. But again, I don't get why Arrgh, as Krampus, wouldn't have gone after CL.

For Tevish's part, despite allying with Zinger earlier and going after Arrgh, I don't quite get the impression that he is Krampus. He could be. He's much more level headed.

I'm actually at a crossroad here since I can't come to a conclusion.

CL lacks in participation and could be Krampus.

Tevish focuses on what is in front of us and could be Krampus.

Arrgh, you could be Krampus, but it is a consequence of CL nailing you despite your (fake?) results.




Although, wrt to Tevish, -- well here is the thing. Why was Zinger chosen? To be culted I mean.

My logical foundation is simply being kick ass at mafia. Because in my mind it looks like people thought as time went on they thought the game would become solvable, but instead they started losing there **** when things were tampered with and were made to think there was racist krampus cult. So investigation results will not weigh heavily into my decisions this game.

What if Zinger was sane, CL? Wouldn't that imply you are Krampus and that you're lying to me?

Part of me wants to torpedo CL on principle, but as much as I try to work the results, even throwing out KoD's, I'm having trouble finding a scenario in which CL can actually be Krampus himself

The closest I can figure (for CL=Krampus) is that the message about a cult that came with Zinger's block would have had to be a false message. There was no reason for Zinger to not relate what he was told, given how he flipped, but he could have been told that he was "Immune to culting" because he was "Either sane or insane" in bad faith. That is, Zinger was not actually sane or insane: He was Paranoid. Under this interpretation I would be the insane cop. CL is the only player I haven't investigated. Aaarrrgh, meanwhile, would be the Sane cop, and his Naughty on KoD the result of the same results-manipulation that saw KoD flip on himself in a way that shouldn't have been possible. KoD's initial sanity would have been Naive, but we know he was twisted. It would even be a singular twisting event depending on order of operations. That is, if Aaarrrgh's Sane investigation returned Nice on KoD, followed by Krampus flipping KoD, followed by KoD's self investigation turning up naughty. The next night, the flip is still in play and Aaarrrgh returns naughty on KoD.

This is possible, in theory, but it requires a lot of Krampus powers -- one to flip investigations by and on KoD and one to Roleblock and send a troll "cult" message to Zinger -- to line up just right in order to maintain that window on possibility. "Aaarrrgh is Krampus", by comparison, requires explaining nothing by manipulation that isn't already explained by manipulation. The Krampus powers in previous years were simple, is it really reasonable to wager that this year's Krampus has a massive, intense jump in complexity?

I don't think it really is.

I just realized that I accidentally wrote Jack-in-the-box in an earlier post when I meant a jack of all trades. Which to me is the only reasonable way Krampus could be operating.

CL seems to be the only one who is not taking his hair out over the ridiculous situation, which could imply that it is not surprising to him. On the other hand, being absolutely incomprehensible is completely on brand for CL regardless of alignment (congratulations, KoD, you are not the most frustrating player in this game!), so I don't know if we can draw any conclusions there. However, since I can't draw any conclusions about anything for any reason in this game, I'm just going to pick a hill to die on. Sorry, CL.
