Happy Halloween, everyone!

As you know, I try to put out something for Halloween pretty much every year. Previous Halloween releases from me include "Screams in the Dark," in 2014, "Beyond the Shadows," in 2015, "Some Enchanted Evening," in 2016, "Daneera and the Domovoi," in 2017, "Necromancer's Lament," in 2018, and last year's little-loved "Dyson's Fear" (and the bonus Halloween poem from Raven's Rhymes, "Mass of Ghouls").

This year, I have returned to the realm of the Poetic. So here is this year's Halloween poem, "Lanterns in the Night." Enjoy, and have a Happy Halloween.

The cadence of the piece was kind of hard for me to pick up, but I really like a lot of the language. There's a nice weight and architecture to it that is very evocative.

Thanks for sharing.

This is good. It is just creepy and mysterious enough to stay interesting without going grimdark or cheesy. Well done!

Thanks, Barinellos and Aaarrrgh! I had a lot of fun with this poem. It was one that I wasn't quite sure where I was going to go with it as I started, and sort of let the story develop on it's own. I'm glad you found the language interesting and engaging enough.

Thanks for reading!
