Of creatures or of anything? What about Erase, for example?

“Removal” refers specifically to creatures

Unqualified, yes, 'removal' generally means creature removal, but what is enchantment removal if not... removal?

Anyways, I wonder if this would be acceptable in white:

Pare Away :1::w:
Instant
Exile target creature with power greater than its toughness.

I had a second card I intended to post in here, but I forgot it.

Hmmm

Genetic Memory :1::g::g:
Instant
Return target card from your graveyard to your hand. If was a creature card, it gains flash until end of turn.

That doesn't work. You have to write something like "If it was a creature, you may cast it".

Or add the Scout's Warning ability, which is slightly more flexible than that card

I had thought that the card being public knowledge might make the simplified wording workable.
Neither of the proposed solutions is really perfect. I don't want to give flash to the next creature you play, seeing as it might not be the retreived creature. And while you'd typically want to make use of the flash ability immediately, I don't really want to obligate it.

Genetic Memory :1::g::g:
Instant
Return target card from your graveyard to your hand. Until end of turn, if that card was a creature card, the next time you cast a spell with that card's name you may cast that card as though it had flash.

Kind of loquacious, but I think it works? Might not be worth he word salad though.

Maybe your original version would work if it also permanently revealed the card while in your hand. But I don't know the rules that well

Or you could exile it and be able to play it from exile rather than it being in your hand

You could also use "you may play a card with that name as though it had flash this turn".

More Recollects

Quick Recap :1::u:
Instant
Return target instant card from your graveyard to your hand. Exile Quick Recap.

Cards like this normally have exile clauses these days, right?

Volt Salvage :r::w:
Sorcery
Return target artifact, enchantment, instant or sorcery card from your graveyard to your hand. Exile Volt Salvage.

A Boros card that isn't aggressive?!

This is white-red card, but I'm not sure it's a Boros card. It doesn't have a lot of synergy with how the guild plays. Boros is a guild that wins with creatures attacking and this doesn't deal with creatures attacking.

People regularly use 'Boros' as synecdoche for R/W

I think you knew that

They usually only exile if they bring back multiple cards or have a bonus effect
