why is the change needed?

its a little annoying that crusade doesn't work but aside from that i feel like i haven't had any issues with the autocard system

i don't use it extensively though

Scryfall is a better database, so it's more convenient to, when clicking on an autocard link, go to Scryfall directly. It is not a massively needed improvement though, in my opinion.

Agreed. It would bring some quality of life improvements over The Gatherer, but isn't mission critical.

Switching where the link goes is very simple (and should work now!).

On the other hand, changing where we get the images would take some work - with Gatherer we can just feed it a card name and get an image out, while Scryfall has a more complex/richer API. I feel like getting slightly nicer autocard images isn't incredibly valuable, though, since they need to be pretty small to avoid disrupting reading and navigation, and if you want a pretty image you can just... click the link. So I probably won't do that part.
