Hello everyone!

My boyfriend went looking for a Magic-based forum and we stumbled unto this little corner of the net, so here we are (I'm sure he'll make his own intro post in a moment).

I am fairly new to the game. I only started playing Magic when I started dating Boyfriend and he introduced me to the game. I only have a few Commander decks of my own, and I play them fairly well, but I have very limited knowledge about any other formats and building my own deck. I do play in Arena occasionally, but I do spend more time watching Boyfriend's escapades than my own.

I'm looking forward to learning more from well seasoned players.

Hey there, everyone!

Just stumbled upon here trying to find a forum for me and my girlfriend to check out so we could engage with other fans of Magic the Gathering, though, for me, it's so I can find a place where I can do this that isn't on Facebook. It's really hard to talk to anyone about anything on there.

I'm kind of a spotty veteran of the game. I started playing around 1996-1997 and stopped playing when my collection was taken from me. I came back around the Lorwyn block for about a year but the local scene wasn't near as prolific as it is now. I've been chin-deep in the game for the last three years and change. I primarily played Modern and Standard up until getting back into the game three years ago where I was brought into the Commander fold and that's the format I play most often in Paper. I play Standard on Arena quite frequently.

My favorite things about Magic are pretty much centered around cracking packs, building decks, and lore. I'm particularly a sucker for Standard spoiler season as well but those things are pretty much what drew me to Magic and what holds me to Magic.

I was playing Rakdos before Ravnica made it a thing and when playing two colors in a deck was not entirely a thing. There was something about discard and pinging at the same time that grew on me. When I got to playing the second time around, I played Rakdos and Izzet primarily and, nowadays, I find myself gravitating towards Grixis in Commander, these days, as it is literally the best of both of those worlds, for me, but I find myself gravitating towards Izzet and Golgari in Arena Standard, though.

I did actually play Magic back in high school, but I've really fallen off since then. But I still have at least some knowledge of the game, for what that's worth.
