Well Barney, Twilight Struggle was on discount so I bought it. I've already crushed the AI at +10 handicap, so I guess I must know something about the game (but the AI is pretty damn stupid).

It is very annoying how there is no ladder though. The player population seems tiny as well, much worse than Magic Duels last time I played it. Sometimes it feels like I am the only one online. How do people even find games?

I don’t have the game, sorry. Haven’t played in so long, I forget which side has the natural advantage. I think it was the USSR but I can’t remember. I used to let my ex wife play whichever side tends to win more as a natural handicap to help her win but she never did

Is +10 handicap the greatest handicap you can give?

USSR is supposed to have an advantage, in competitive play US gets +2. I gave the AI the maximum handicap of +10 and still won rather smoothly, so yeah Next game I'll take the US and give the USSR +10.

Lost the first game, won the second one. I'm still getting familiar with game mechanics, there's a lot to pay attention to. I need to track the locations of the scoring cards, current Mil Ops / defcon, how many ARs there are left in the turn. Importantly, I also need to make plans for my entire turn prior to choosing a headline. I lost the first game because I didn't pay attention and lost 4 VPs to Mil Ops. Playing as US in general seems rather more difficult than playing as USSR, as well.

Boy this game is stressful. It reminds me of the time I played Pokemon. Somehow it is more stressful than Magic or Storybook Brawl, I don't know why. I start hyperventilating before I even make a move.
