Well done! Yes, the famous "We were gods once" speech, delivered telepathically by Nicol Bolas to Jace Beleren on page 192 of Ari Marmell's novel Agents of Artifice. While very much not a creation of the M:EM, I would argue that you would be hard-pressed to find any one line that has been more influential to the M:EM than that one, as it is a theme that many of us have touched on and explored in one way or another.

I've done it four or five times myself alone!

Agreed, and though I don't think I've even written enough to have made the reference myself, I've made it known many a time how much I love allusions to the line. Reading that book was what made me fall in love with Marmell's writing.

It's possible you referenced it at some point during the VITAL tournament. I don't remember for sure, but that seems like a time it might have happened.
