Hi everyone! I came here from the WotC forums, where I spent a lot of time in the MtG Casual Decks forum. Besides MtG I play D&D, and am a big fan of table-top games generally.
I live in Newark, England, where I'm currently studying to become a piano tuner and repairer in the desperate hope that one day I'll be able to make money out of it so that I don't have to spend my life skint and working for the man/languishing on benefits.
Besides games, my favourite things are music and laughing.
I'm turning thirty in under a month. I feel kind of weird about that.

I'm not big into metal - I'm afraid I tend to find it a bit cliche-ridden (I've gathered that isn't going to be a popular opinion around here, but never mind) - but there is a bit I like. The droney, bassy, doomy stuff, mainly. Yeah, I'll put a few examples in the appropriate thread.

Droney doomy? You might like Warning and 40 Watt Sun. Very slow, very melancholic, very soul-crushing.

I like Aereogramme myself, but that's probably not metal enough.

I everyone, I'm Akavasha. I'm from over at the WotC Real Adventures site. Our Forum has gone through another massive change and is on serious life-support with just a dozen of us over there now. I was actually taking several months off (I've played over there for 10 years) when the Forum change happened and the shock of what I discovered on my return has not quite worn off yet. One of the other players suggested I come visit this site and I see a few faces I am familiar with. (Hi Bounty Hunter). I'm strictly a D&D gal and have been for a very long time. I started playing in the 80's, took some time off, then came back to it a little over ten years ago. I prefer playing 3.5ed but will also play 4ed. I haven't had a chance to even look over 5ed and probably won't for at least a few more months. Who knows, maybe by the time I get to it they'll have the 6th edition out. I'm a good team player. I tend to prefer role play over min/max characters and I'm not someone who will disrupt a game bickering over rules or arguing with the DM. (DM is god in his/her game.)

I hope to be a good addition to your community here. Now I'm off to poke around a bit before I have to get to work.

Feel free to swing by our Play By Post Area when you have the time. Drop into the Tavern in the OoC to say hey to everyone and what not. I think rstnme's 4E game just got up an running so I'm not sure if there are any game currently recruiting, but I know Squinty_Eyes has mentioned working other people into his Pathfinder game if they have the interest and some of the other DMs may be willing to do the same.

I think currently we're at one 3.0 game, one Pathfinder game, and three 4E games. Not bad at all for such a new site.

Our Structured PbP area does currently share a forum with games like Magic the Gathering and Mafia so you'll see some non d20 games mixed in, but everyone get along nicely I think.
