Impressions so far:

- Primal Might looks like a strictly better Prey Upon
- Necromentia is an Unmoored Ego that makes zombies? It should certainly be better against combo decks that can't make much use of the 2/2s.
- Teferi, Master of Time is the first (?) planeswalker that can be activate during the opponent's turn. Thank God the abilities aren't very strong. First thing that comes to mind for me is that it makes Nicol Bolas, God Pharaoh enable crazy combos.
- Teferi's Ageless Insight looks quite powerful with cantrips becoming card advantage spells. A 4-mana does-not-impact-battlefield artifact is potentially a problem, and it is legendary too, but when Opt starts drawing two cards instead of 1 it should be a big deal. It notably doesn't say it only works on the first card drawn this way too.
- Sparkhunter Manticore is the first anti-planeswalker card? 3-mana 3/4 is great and all, but having to discard a card is not.
- Liliana, Waker of the Dead looks like another bad planeswalker. Maybe Wizards are toning down the power level for a reason.
- They did reprint Ugin, the Spirit Dragon though.
- Azusa, Lost but Seeking could be a nice combo with Song of Creation. The amount of value generated in a Song turn could be immense. Speaking of which, I've yet to see Song of Creation played in both constructed & limited. Whatever happened to it?
- Welcome back Baneslayer Angel?? We had Lyra not so long ago, I still remember how ridiculous the card was in limited ...
- Pack Leader looks potentially broken. It's invulnerable to combat damage when attacking, and it's not even bad as a 2-mana 2/2.
- Gadrak, the Crown Scourge could also be quite good. It helps ramp, and it's a big blocker even if it can't attack.
- Mangara, the Diplomat looks quite obnoxious as a hatebear, against the right decks.

Wait, does Teferi, Master of Time get to activate once each turn? Like, once on my turn, and once on opponent's? Anyone know?

Gonna try to build this deck. I built a Song of Creation deck yesterday and the challenge of trying to gauge when to drop the Song and not brick was pretty fun...but the deck needs Azusa, for sure.

I actually misread Song of Creation then - I thought it let you draw two cards a turn. The way it's actually worded, I imagine the biggest risk with Song is that the card you draw is a land, which bricks you for the turn. Azusa does not help with that.

Also as far as I'm aware, the current Song of Creation lists aim to draw their entire library and win with Thassa's Oracle. That's certainly not how I was imagining Song to be used. Maybe it'll help, but idk.

The version of that I’ve seen is historic, and works on 0 mana cost spells to rip through the deck and combo off in a single turn. I haven’t seen a standard version that was notable. Being able to play out even more lands per turn could potentially support standard versions who don’t have access to some of the 0 cmc spells the historic version utilizes. Idk if it’d be good, but worth tinkering with I think.

I've just been using a bunch of graveyard recursion like Radical Idea and Uro so you have "money in the bank" so to speak even if you have to discard your hand. But yes, it's still exceptionally janky bc it's hard to cast Song and still have mana leftover to keep the turn going and avoid bricking. Self-mill is the only win-con I can think of with that card. It'll prob never find a home in standard, but still kind of fun to play around with.
