As the dawn rises on a new day in the kingdom of Dominaria, several citizens of the land have found themselves rounded up and brought the King's courtyard. Talk amongst the rabble seems to be varying points of confusion and self-righteous indignation, with many a
"What's going on?" and
"Why are we here?" interspersed among the
"I shouldn't be here," and
"This must be some mistake," not to mention the odd
"I think I left my stove on!"Before long, the royal trumpets play, and the servants of the King bring out his pompous throne and the equally glamourous but less ostentatious throne of his bride. A herald speaks.
"Hear yee, hear yee, one and all, loyal subjects of the Crown. You have all been summoned here today for a glorious occasion! You will participate in the Peasant Survivor games by request of the King and his loving waifu, the Queen, for their unique entertainment. As with all such games, you will vote to have each other Lynched in a life-and-death stakes popularity contest. The winner not only gets bragging rights for entertaining the King, but also gets to go home to their respective families. The losers will be assured an important place in the afterlife for having died in service to his royal majesty. Everyone, bow your heads in respect, the King of Dominaria is here. Long live the King!"With roaring applause from onlookers everywhere, and maybe a few from the crowd of soon-to-be-dead peasants, the magnanimous and dashing, the one, the only,
KingofDominaria,
the King of Dominaria, arrives from his royal carriage and takes his place on his throne, high above the rest. Joined moments later by his waifu,
Queenie,
the Queen of Dominaria, in her throne to his right.
The King speaks:
""Let the games begin!"And so, they did.
It is now DAY ONE
