So this Azorious deck is pretty much cancer. The combo of Narset and Teferi really just sucks the fun right out of the game. What are some of the most effective hate strategies if you're in simic/temur? I'm running a simic ramp deck with uro and nyxborn ancient + a small red splash for Omnath and Purph's intervention as a wincon. I was also considering how to implement a mill sideboard plan as an alternate wincon. What would some options be for that? Specifically, are there any cards in standard that relate creature power to milling, like
Altar of Dementia?
I dislike this meta, it's either mono red aggro or UW Prison, err, control (it's a prison deck though imo - teferi/narset lockout looped with Elspeth). So far I'm struggling to get to mythic this season, since I prefer midrange and really don't want to play either deck.
Simic ramp was my first attempt, but I couldn't make it good enough against both decks even after sideboard. My best decks currently are Sultai Mid and a Bant Ramp list that's not running the Elspeth enchant out of pure stubbornness. The key interactions from what I can see are: Discard, Teferi, Enchantment hate, graveyard hate, flying blockers (iffy).
So my Bant list runs in the main 4 teferi, 4 krasis, 4 nissa (pressuring pws). Sideboarding in 2 heliod's interventon, 2 3 mana Ashiok, and various counters (veto+dispute). The Elspeth enchant would make the deck stronger. Main focus is to heliod the enchants/exile gys with multiple pws in and grind them out.
My sultai list runs main 2/2 split remorse/erasure, 1-2 Liliana, 4 casualties and 1 Jace for the self-mill win. Sideboarding in 2 erasure, 2 remorse, 2 unmoored, counters and .....2
Thought Distortion.
That last card has me pretty much convinced to focus on Sultai, it's horrendously powerful against azorious. Especially if you're casting it on turn 4! I'm tempted to up the number, but the sideboard needs to answer more than just uw.
I'd say the bant list is more generally powerful since it gets to run unconditional sweepers and Dream Trawler, but it's a worse UW deck in that matchup that occasionally nut draws a ton of ramp.
I can copy paste the lists if you want, though they're pretty much built for preference/trying out new cards not for maximum efficiency (e.g the sultai list runs no nissas, opting for 2 5 mana ashioks cos they're new and shiny).
