Worst saga in Magic so far, imho. Everything it does, it is really bad at.

The 1 is really weird in Green. Like it actually feels pie breaking for Green to mill opponents. And two to mill each player three...mill wants more for your opponent and self mill wants more on you. This just feels bad.

The 2 and 3 are fully green mechanically at least. My guess from flavor is that the Gods captured and bound all three titans, exiling two of them is supposed to like stop their Escape (since the escape ability is from the grave only) while the last one-ostensibly the one depicted as fleeing the golden circle successfuly-is able to actually make his escape. So the flavor DOES ties in at least. But it's all so weak.

R&D Brainstorming Session: Guys, guys, what if Grapple with the Past, but instead of instant speed it was hella slow and offered incidental life gain and the opportunity to maybe mess with your opponents scry-to-the-top :V

Remember this is an enchantment-based set. So there will be probably be additional upsides. With all the stuff this is doing, I can imagine some interesting interactions. Like, say, chaining two or three of these together.

I’m sure it will have set synergies similar to Delirium with Grapple. But this looks so slow as to be unplayable. Surely constructed will have better 2 mana enchantment plays to synergize with whatever strategy you’re working with. Think if you’re spending T2 and T3 and maybe T4 chaining these, you’re so far behind by the time 3rd lore resolves, whatever you pick back up will be too late to help. I don’t even know if this will be playable in limited where you’re less likely to pick up synergistic spells.

We’ll see what the full set looks like and maybe it’s better than I’m thinking, but I’m not optimistic for this one.

Ok, time to reign in my initial impression. After seeing more escape cards and their associated costs, first lore mode look much more valuable, improving the card as a whole in my eyes particularly in limited.

Initial take was so hot I appear to have burned myself :V

Yeah, I mean, it's still unclear whether escape will even be playable outside of limited. I feel like this could be decent in limited. Outside of that, who knows.

I think the Titans look like they could be playable, in meme decks at least. This would be a handy tool for GGXX Titans. Unfortunately the revealed ones require 5 cards to escape and this only gives you 4 after lore-ing out, as would allow you to escape on curve with 2 card combo if milled 4 (which is a damn shame since this is linked to Titans in name).

I’m still not very optimistic it will see pro tour play like Grapple did, but it does look like it could be decent in limited, and possibly see use in constructed meme decks. More possibility than I was initially thinking anyways.
