Amen to that, man. 2019 has been the worst year of my life so far, I'm not even kidding. Had to cope in a working environment full of toxic people who would constantly abuse their power and use whatever lies, bullying and manipulation they needed to basically destroy my career before it even really started. Still trying to sort things out with the help of a lawyer, but right now, I'm basically unemployed and somewhere on the burnout/stress disorder/depression spectrum (been on medication for a few months now because of it).

Then there are/were some general health issues, trouble in my extended family and things going south on the dating front real fast...

@Moppi: Hey, so sorry to hear that. I wish you and your mum the best of luck! *knocks on wood*

@State of the forum community: I'm still lurking and reading most of the posts here, but I don't really consider myself a storyline fan anymore and am just over engaging with most things WotC is putting out there these days (beside the fact that I really didn't have the time and energy for it, see above). As far as I'm concerned, Magic doesn't have a storyline anymore, and I doubt it ever will again. The only parts of Magic's fluff that I'm still interested in are either unlikely to ever come back (Ulgrotha, Kamigawa) or only showing up once in a blue moon (Dominaria, Innistrad). Add that to the fact that I disagee with pretty much their entire creative direction, and there really isn't much for me to do around here.

Hazbin Hotel has finally come out.
I found it to be a hell of a lot of fun.

I've been waiting three years for that show and I enjoyed almost every minute. Radio Demon is just great.

I enjoyed it greatly, but was anyone else distracted by what felt like an overabundance of sound effects?

A little bit. There were some parts where I felt the sounds were fighting the dialogue for attention.

I normally don't drop by around here, but this issue is large enough that people need to know.

If you comment on youtube, or even just watch livestreams on youtube, BE WARNED THAT YOUR ENTIRE GOOGLE ACCOUNT MAY BE BANNED.

Markiplier made a video about it if you want more details -- he has screenshots that prove it's going on. People aren't just having their youtube account suspended, but having their entire google account, including email, cloud storage, live chat, etc., banned. That's serious enough that it may even affect businesses (and I won't be surprised if a lawsuit comes about eventually).

Based on the evidence, I think google released an overly-aggressive anti-bot bot, but since appeals are being rejected, this is serious enough that it warrants warning people about it. Stay safe out there.

Can the usual recover mechanisms still work though?

I'll think about having my drive replicated just in case.

Sounds like things are tough for a lot of us. I jjst wanna send out a lot of positivity and love to yall and my best wishes (mostly because I don't have much else I can provide right now)

I have been distant because of life lately, but I still try to check occasionally to see what's going on. I haven't kept up on story stuff since they bungled Rav War/Allegance novel's but I still play mtg pretty regularly (mostly only modern, edh, and now pioneer) and this site is still on my quick access of pages on my desktop. I just don't spend a bunch of time on my desktop and posting is tricky for someone with fat thumbs on a mobile phone.

But yeah, it feels like in general there is less story discussion to be having than there used to be honestly.

Well, when they stopped posting stories on Wednesdays, that was a pretty big blow to the community here and elsewhere online. I know a lot of groups that practically died off when that spigot went dry. While I am glad that they are making real books again, I still wish they had the short stories as well, maybe detailing interesting side-commentary about the plane we were visiting and not linked to the main book proper.

Saw the highly anticipated Klaus. As indicated the beautiful animation did not disappoint. Went in with very low expectations for the story but was pleasantly surprised with the worldbuilding.

I've finished Horus Rising by Dan Abnett. This novel would be a good template for a New Phyrexia-centric story. The Empire of Man in the 40K universe reminds me of a the phyrexians when it comes to conquest; they're obviously extremely violent, xenophobic, and will not tolerate resistance to the Empire's conquest. It calls to mind the phyrexian philosophy of compleation. Except, we're seeing the novel's events from the POV of high-ranking soldiers in the Empire of Man, which serves to humanize them and downplay the horrors they commit.

Coincidentally I was just thinking about making Space: The Convergence reality and have Aerulon be the Empire analogues.

I'm down, though the entire hyperspace concept would have to be a little modified to mirror the planeswalkers analogue.

I was thinking that the plane of Space: the Convergence takes place in the Un-iverse, so planeswalking is still a thing.

My personal take is to borrow somewhat from the likes of Dune and splice it a little with 40k, Walkers being a type of genetic mutant capable of folding space via spacial rifts. The ancient 'rifters could transport entire fleets at a time, but now the Space version of the mending had narrowed it down to individuals capable of instantaneous transport.

of course, that's just my thoughts on the matter.

It's been really hard to like Steven so far into the new season.

I kinda like him more maybe. I'm mostly just dissapointed by how fillery the last ones have been. Not that I mind chill episodes, its kinda scary with no confirmation on how kany episodes we are getting before it ends. Every one counts!
