Anyway, we still have a lot of time for this day so I think we don't have to rush anything just yet. I'd prefer the CS votes to be figured out by at least midway through the day, definitely not in the EoD.

There's potential I might be a good suitor for the CS, but I want to see other weigh in on their compatibility.

1.) Minish breadcrumbing IC?

2.) Tevish and Minish back and forth over Minish's IC post.

3.) Knee-jerk reaction to anyone who suggests themself for dating the CS is negative. Just because I am incapable of trust.

4.) Minish suggest himself as well. So that's both Rubik and Minish that earn a nope from me. Potential CS sheep from Minish on Rubik spotted.

Side Note: Kind-hearted people think about others before themself.

5.) Just because a person is mentioned as being [insert special name] doesn't mean their alignment is tied to it/confirmed/w/e. Assumptions are bad mmmkay (I'm looking at you ExLight).

The only reason I was trying to rush a CS Vote was because I was hoping it could be hammered. If it can't, then I don't have any interest in being the dater unless the skeleton decides they're into giants.

Sure I wouldn't mind being friends with mechanical benefits, but I'm not sure my character is the best person to settle down with. Not really that much depth to him.

CS Vote: KoD

How can I be breadcrumbing IC? Y'all would know if I were because it'd be announced.

Also do you not expect town to advocate themselves to date CS? The only person you can trust as town is yourself this early. And we don't want mafia to get it so it'd be a shot in the dark to suggest someone else. Rubik hosted a Smash Bros game recently on ZD where someone was voted to use their final Smash and I absolutely advocated for myself. Granted that was on day 3 where people had better reads but still.

What do you mean by potential CS sheep? If you mean my vote for Rubik it's because I felt he and I would be good contenders as the top 2 votes. If you mean us both suggesting ourselves, then I literally did so in my first post. I didn't outright tell people to vote for me then, but I did talk about how we would be a good match.

1.)

Naga
Quote:
Why do you really not want Rubik to gain the Power of Love? Seems odd to be that strongly against it.

I'm against anyone who wants themself to be the one as opposed to others choosing that person first and foremost. I'll fight you over this.

2.) Whyyyyyyyy PK? I would have gone for you, but no you had to suggest yourself.

3.)

Rubik
Quote:
I'm playing extremely seriously.

You're playing more here than you did last game. I imagine it is because you're not playing another game at the same time, but still. Lurker.

ExLight
Quote:
Are you that desperate to get a date tho, it's kinda weird to see Town trying to get something that soon.

Thank you. Totally not alone with this thought.

4.)

funnier
Quote:
I am def okay with voting you to date the skeleton, if only to stop Rubik, but also because you seem the most qualified tbh.

CS Vote: Minish

I dislike this post here. Why be against Rubik when you support Minish? They've essentially done the same as Rubik as far as putting themself forward. It makes no sense.

5.)

Naga
Quote:
Aaarrgh has stated that the effect would be of great power to either the town or the mafia. The fact that you're pushing hard to give it to yourself seems kindof suspicious to me, since it could easily be mafia pushing to get the power for themselves.

Complete 180 already. I dislike it.

PK
Quote:
Naga's posts seem very sincere and remind me a lot of the last game.

Crazy design itself is just noise but I feel his heart is a good place.

?

Sincere in what way? Because from where I'm standing it looked like Naga was not registering at all that Rubik was self promoting, then he completely switches and goes, "Rubik is a no no because of his self promoting."

6.) What JD said is the most sensible thing I've read thus far in my trek through the pages. Except the last part about being the best candidate. (He's my waifu.)

7.)

Rubik
Quote:
It doesn't have to be me, I just think I'm less likely to suffer from any consequences if the date turns out to be a bad thing and I know I'm town aligned if it turns out to be a good thing. If we choose someone else, so be it, but I'm interested in seeing how it goes.

I dislike you slightly less now. If you're serious about someone else, then I'd like to see you actually put someone else up front instead of your vote on yourself.

Speaking of that vote, I think I've seen enough posts from people that I'm comfy with CS Vote: JD. Probably the only person I've seen that hasn't been like, "Vote me to date the CS." That, and I maaaay be sad if I didn't support my waifu in something.

8.)

Rubik
Quote:
I'm attacking you for trying to fish out details about my role by implying that I was saying things about my role's power level, which is an entirely anti-town thing to do.

Honestly, I have to agree here. Nothing about saying, "I'm just a really tall guy, that's it," really speaks to him projecting what his role's power level is. If anything, it looks like a rather erroneous assumption was made by you (Ex), and it does come off as being opportunistic to jump Rubik for that.

Vote: ExLight

I was looking for a Jeep vote to come along, but this looks way more productive in terms of scum hunting.

ExLight
Quote:
are you scumreading me because I'm being towny or because I'm not being a lunatic scummy?

Considering the context Rubik just gave, it seems he is trying to meta read you.

Either way, the action you took against him is scummy in and of itself.

Pausing a moment. @CL: Are you going to contribute more than just glancing meme-like questions/statements? I know you're chaotic, but you managed to contribute last game. And last game you were all over the place, so that's saying something.

Votecount
Rubik (4) - Funnier, Amber, PK, Exlight, Tevish, HW
ExLight (2) - Rubik, KoD
Tevish (1) - Minish
Not Voting (7) - Naga, Freddeh, Aaarrggh, Captan Lunch, KoD, JD, SMS

It currently takes 9 votes to lynch someone via majority.

Crystal Skeleton Contest Votecount
Rubik (2) - Rubik, Amber
Minish (2) - Funnier, Minish
Hello World (1) - HW
Funnier (2) - Exlight, Tevish
JD (1) - KoD
Not Voting (7) - Naga, PK, Freddeh, Aaarrrgh, Captan Lunch, JD, SMS.

Both these counts should be correct, but let me know if you think I've made a mistake.

Please remember to unvote before casting another vote or your vote won't be counted. This applies to both votecounts.

@Tevish:

Yes, Rubik is different this game compared to last. How much of a factor being in two games at the same time is likely a big part of it though (as he was active near the end due to his other game ending). I don't agree with your assessment of his so called soft claiming though.

As for CS vote on funnier, why him?

@Zinger: You do realize you'll be a liar if you don't date in the future, yes? Not that that is extremely important, but I figured it'd be funny in a way to point that out.

And no, I'll not help you achieve that future because you just self promoted yourself.

@Amber: Tevish's countdown is 4 days away. Why bother being concerned when we don't know anything else about it and it isn't close? You're welcome to actually inquire about it to him as opposed to waving your hands over it.

Annnnnnnnnnnd HW is the third vote on Rubik. Complete with train noises. Nice. ExLight is far more interesting though.

Minish

I think all this talk about being big seems town from him. He said we would all be seeing him tonight so that's probably some kind of mechanical thing which should be easy to prove. Just the way he's gone about the day feels less like he does as scum.

Just because a mechanic is shown to be true from a player doesn't mean that player is town necessarily. But, given my short time browsing and interacting, I am inclined to agree that he seems town (though strictly because of how events have progressed and seeing interactions more so than a meta standpoint).

Also from Minish
Quote:
I've also been pushing to date the skeleton, so why would you only call Rubik out for it? I may not have been as aggressive but I have been talking about it. I don't think it's necessarily suspicious for one to want to date the skeleton because town has incentive to make sure they get it over scum.

IKR?! Both funnier and Naga.

I find this to be the most compelling argument yet.

I'm intrigued. Tell me more.

Agreed wrt to Amber.

Naga
Quote:
I feel that you are right that scum don't want targets on their backs, but I think as well that they would want to give off the impression that they don't care if there is a target on their back, while they actually would. If done well, they'd probably come off the same.

That's some next level WIFOM stuff you've got there. I see you're a man of culture.

Scum tend to be more cautious than brave (unless we're talking about PK). Otherwise they paint targets on themselves and die (like QJ did last game).

Ok, I'm pretty much caught up. Lot of meta reads going on.

Dare I say aaarrrgh info lynch?
Actually was looking at voting Rubik, but was lurking to see if I could determine if he was colluding with a Exlight. The "make up your mind" comment had me intrigued.

I wasn't saying Rubik would be town because of those mechanical reasons. Just that we would at least know something about his role that could potentially help us figure out his alignment later. Though since I'm town reading him I figured that they might help show he's town in some way.

Also, I'm not concerned about funnier telling Rubik he's not dating the Skeleton but also voting for me. That's rooted in meta. Funnier and Rubik have a bit of rivalry (where they're basically never same alignment), whereas me and funnier have like a connection in games and team up a lot. So all of that from funnier is just meta stuff.

@Minish:

Excuse my Greek, but the IC would be announced if it were triggered (at least that is my experience with it). And given the nature of this game (bastard in style) I would not be surprised if it was more of a triggered ability than just something that gets announced. But eh, that's neither here nor there. The nature of your post that I read is what knee-jerked me to that assessment of your post because that's how you came off in it.

Yes, actually. I trust that *people* will vote for themselves regardless of being town. Town, as a whole, I'd expect to make a fanfare of the whole ordeal and actually vote with good reasoning for who the CS should date. The end result then is more info on two fronts: People we vote to see die, and people we vote to support (rather than just ourselves). That way we form connections not only to those we kill, but those who support X dating the CS. If you didn't see that, then what what?

As for the CS sheep, it is the first reason. Throwback to the above paragraph: You supporting Rubik as a good contender (with you) for the date with the CS draws a line between you and Rubik (since you're more or less proposing that not just yourself but he also be in line for the CS). That is telling, and that is why I described it as a sheep. We'll see more as the game keeps progressing with more conversation.

I will clarify: The post I was quoting said "I would really really really really not Rubik to gain the Power of Love and conquer everything please no". I agree, that we don't want anyone who wants themselves to be the one to date the skeleton. I thought it was odd that funnier was against Rubik specifically dating, instead of a general against anyone who wants it. Learned after it was basically an inside joke. I am also against the self promoting, and if you read my post there like that, you'll see I've been consistent maybe without directly saying it.

@Naga:

Yeah, given the context of the meta stuff Minish pointed out wrt to the CS votes, I get it. That actually speaks a lot back to when I was disliking your 180 that I disliked earlier. Other than that, yes, I see you're against those self promoting as well (and with the meta stuff for context, it actually helps clear up the progression wrt to you).

@funnier:

I manually add quote tags and throw what people said into it vs quoting from the quote button.

I have a habit of just typing and not wanting to have to do some sort of multiquote thing or whatever to make it appear like it does with the actual link.

Preview Edit:

Did I strike a nerve with the Jeep vote thing?
