Is it just me or is the Chulane deck substantially better than the others? Chulane's effectively an auto-win if he sticks, and you got plenty of ramp to accelerate him onto the battlefield too.

He is the deck I struggled the most with. The other three, I won on my first game (I was playing each one to a win). It felt like it was most dependent on drawing cards in the right order. When it worked, it was great to Meteor Golem twice a turn. But otherwise, I felt like I was ramping into nothing.

I can't be sure - I picked the faerie schemes one and went 6/0.

Chulane does look strong though.

I very much enjoy singleton (or close) precons. I think they are a good way to have force casual games but also if the decks are well-tuned to balance, it is as skilltesting as any meta game imo.

Brawl is a whole lot of fun with 4+ people at a kitchen table. Throw in a few cold drinks and some munchies and you have yourself a good couple hours worth of entertainment.

First win gives 1k xp and a card from eldraine - 5 more wins and you have a few more cards. They are only playable in 2020 standard events until after the 26th, so what that actually means... I don't know.

When I first looked through the decks I felt basically the same - Chulane seemed very good, the others seemed a bit eh.

I came around VERY quickly on the sacrifice deck, which is highly synergistic. Artifacts is a bit tricky to play, but not bad either. Knights seems to be the worst deck, but it's not much worse than the others (I have seen very many people misplay it though)

1-0 with Chulane
7-2 with Faeries

I dunno, decks all have build issues. Faeries is most consistent because it has the best commander.

I've stopped playing the format but yeah I acknowledge the Faeries deck is also strong. Didn't play with it, but I did lose to it.

Sacrifice deck seemed pretty bad because their commander is weak. Synergies are great and if they get going your win rate goes up, but your cards lack individual power and if things don't go right you just lose. Knights deck is even worse (you have to aggro people out from 25 life), don't think I lost to the deck while getting my 6 wins, unless it was one of the games where I conceded before game starts if I'm not on the play.

Yeah, I played for that 1k xp - took 2 games. First one I conceded rather early when the board was all power on his side and all guild globes on mine. Second was an eternal snoozefest and I was lucky enough to break the stall with a relevant topdeck.

I see no incentive to play for uncommon(!) rewards, that's so cheap by Wizards :D

I wanted to not finish a black-red quest, so I just played Chulane for a bunch of games. I definitely learned how to play the deck and it became very good. It only fails if the Knights or flying/artifacts/enchantments deck curves out into an aggressive win. Otherwise, you eventually set up a lockdown via repeating Meteor Golem or Frilled Mystic.
