Looks like a percentage when you hit it? Since I started at 97% I am assuming that means I am in the top 97% of all Mythic players and I want to get to 1%?

I also saw CGB was in some Mythic tournament. What are the requirements for those and how often are they? Are they the online version of Grand Prix?

After 99% you are given a number that can go from #1 being the top of the ladder, and #1200 being the last person to qualify to the MCQ at the end of the season -1 month- Then 2 batches of top 1,2K mythic players compete in a MCQ -That´s like 3k people with the limited players-.... THEN... the top 128 players go to day two... you need at least a 7-2 record for that... and top 16 players of day two Qualify to the the Mythic Championship.. you need a 5-1 or 5-0 record for that.
I think CGB and Giocher are the only NGAs that have qualified to the MCQ so far.

Well, made it to 1112 before I quit tonight. Split the first 4-6 games which I was stuck at 97% vs 97 and sub opponents. Won about 3 more to get to 98% vs 97ish opponents. Then played Citrix (346) to get to 99%. Won another game (95%) and then Played Citrix again (347) and that vaulted me up to 1112. Wasn't going to push my luck after that. I had a great top deck the last game of Enter the God Eternals vs his only Steel Leaf when I was at 2 life and we were both in top deck mode. He played Pelt collector next and I got a Bond to get back Enter and Contempt at which point he scooped.

So, pretty sure it uses a ranking system that compares your rank vs your opponent to determine how many 'points' a win or loss is worth. Citrix seemed to really boost me.

I can already tell that I am going to spend too much time working on rank and getting frustrated when I lose it.

It's all about the last day of the season tho, a couple of seasons ago I grinded my way up to #600 12 hours before the deadline... I got pushed out of the 1k by the end of the season... I guess that with the new system that qualifies top 1.2K players I would have qualified but the point I'm trying to make is that is super hard to get there coz at the end of the season your rank decays fast... I think that if you hit top 50 anytime of the season you are good to go... I dunno what rank you should try to hold if you can't play 24 hours before the deadline... Probably around 400 with your fingers crossed

I was about 150, didn't play for a day, and was about 450.

So I don't think there is any spot you're safe before the last few days.

I think my highest was #89, which lasted for all of one match.

Curious who all from here have qualified. TBH, I kinda figured most the spike posters here would be in the top 1200. I have always found the people here to be a cut above in skill level.

I've reached Mythic, but never qualified. Always seemed to me like a very stressful endeavor, and I've not been willing to put in the effort.

In fact usually once I reach Mythic I stop playing. I think I have a 100% win rate at mythic for that reason, winning the one and only one match I played a few seasons ago with Temur Reclamation.

OMG, I remember those discussions. I had just returned to magic after several years off and the best I could get was about 65% consistently. I had what I thought was a decent deck, but figured I would get rolled in the tournament since it seemed like everyone was doing so much better then me.

BTW, can you slide from Mythic to Diamond? Or do you just lose % on Mythic?

i wish you were around when Steve-o was building decks and saying they all had 90% win rates. Hakeem used to call him on it and they'd fight like cats and dogs. It was so much fun. Hakeem would get banned and stuff. I got hit with the ban hammer once too but I don't remember why.

I just remember a thread where people were posting insane rates. Seemed like if you were not at least 75% in that thread you were a scrub. I thought you were referring to that thread and not a specific person. Wow, he must have been a Mythical Mythic.

I do remember that thread though that you are talking about. We were all testing some builds and some of us (me included) were getting some pretty stupid win streaks (I'm sure it was cuz I was on xbox though), and I remember you coming into that thread with a post, "HOW IS EVERYONE GETTING THESE KINDS OF RESULTS WITH THESE DECKS??!" lol, it was so funny cuz we could feel your frustration.

At first, I mostly wouldn't post a deck unless it had won 9 or 10 out of 10 in testing - this eliminated a lot of things I tried. But eventually, I just started posting decks that were fun and sufficiently spiky to be good. I realized that no deck could consistently do that well, so anything that actually made it to 9 or 10 out of 10 just had a really lucky run. Nowadays, I don't even play, so any deck I post is 100% undefeated.
