They’re not doing anything. That was the one big conclusive takeaway from the Mueller report was the clear interference in the election and no task force nor committee or anything has been publicly charged with investigating that.

I always thought part of Trump voters weren't really voting Donald, but sending the message "we are so sick of your crap that we prefer to vote an orange clown better than you" to the professional political (and media) stablishment. And it was a strong message that sent into a kind of paniked frenzy its target, btw

Yeah, you’re right, he was the clear protest vote last time around. If Bernie wins the nomination, he’d get the protest votes this time around, I gather

That is what I thought as well. But now I see many of them defending his tweets. Like the ones that think when told the 'squad' to go home that he meant to their districts.....

Basically, he has driven them into such an anti liberal frenzy so that they can't see straight. My concern is the left will put up someone far left and we are left with another decision with two bad choices.

I still have trouble seeing Hillary as a bad choice. She’s not perfect but is so clearly a better, smarter, safer choice that someone with Trumps profile

That being said, I agree with you that they shouldn’t put someone too left like Bernie. I think a good metric, for me, is that if AOC doesn’t like the nominee, then that means they’re a good safe choice

Damn this meta shifted!
-Legislating on facebook and google leverage on elections should be #1 priority in every country, democracy is dead if this is not addressed-

He got votes for various reasons. He got protest votes (I briefly entertained the idea myself, but decided to throw away my vote on the Libertarian Party instead in the end), single issue votes (personally know some religious people who thought he was contemptible AF but voted for him on abortion issue), and of course MAGA True Believers. I do think the protest votes put him in office - don’t think MAGA-heads and single issue voters alone would have been enough.

It’s not just peeps on the right who are in a frenzy of insanity right now. The left has a loud loonie segment too. Worse is the loonie voices on both sides are the ones being amplified, and they just drive each other to act more extreme and outrageous. American politics is an absolute s*** show right now.

With the stuff being trotted out in the Democratic Debates (basically everyone trying to appeal to the far left / identity politics crowd) I’m afraid we’re going to have another 4 years of Trump... We have the electoral college; you can’t win presidency through the coasts alone, you have to appeal to middle America too. It seems insane to me for Dems to center and push identity politics in a majority white country - you get white people feeling like they need to tribalize on identity lines and vote in a block, they’re not going to vote for the party calling them racists. If the eventual winner from Democrats doesn’t level themselves out in the run up to general election, I don’t think they’re gonna win...

Oh, by the way - I still play Inevitability on Magic Duels. I updated it with some cards from sets that released after you built it, but conceptually it’s still the same. Prob 90% of deck is unchanged. I still think it’s a blast to play after all this time :D

Good post Timh.

I also think the identity politics game is a huge mistake. We have a federal election in Canada this fall and the identity politics might push me away from the liberals :(

What? You don't know why someone would want to play a creature on T2 that cantrips? That's like Vert not knowing why you want to play Telling Time.

I feel like this is a callback to an argument from Duels, where Telling Time was a bad card choice for the particular deck, but if you could refresh, I'd be happy to explain my thinking if I didn't then. In a vacuum this tells me nothing.

You did. Yesterday, Barney posted a meme about the argument you had with Gem about it. It was a reference within a reference. Just an inside joke only oldies would get.

I still have trouble seeing Hillary as a bad choice.

Lol...she's a violent maniac and a drunk that thinks her voters are mentally retarded...she gives me the creeps

(For example: Chris Andersen wrote in “American Evita: Hillary Clinton’s Path to Power,” the ensuing fight got violent, with “shattering glass and slamming doors” reverberating throughout the mansion. “When it was over, staff members . . . [found] broken glass, smashed dishes and a cupboard door ripped off its hinges.”

Andersen also wrote that Hillary would assault Bill in their limo en route to official functions. Whatever was available, she’d throw at Bill: “Yellow legal pads, files, briefing books, car keys . . . ‘They’d be screaming at each other, real blue-in-the-face stuff,’ one of their drivers said, ‘but when the car pulled up to their destination, it was all smiles and waving for the crowd.’ ”)

Yeah apparently the only person in the world that frightened Bill Clinton was his wife. None of that means she wouldn’t have made for a good president tho. Also compare that behaviour with Trumps history with women. That seems worse to me. She’s still really qualified too, probably the most qualified candidate we will see in a long time :(

Nice, I haven't played Duels in so long which is a shame because I do miss that deck.

And I completely agree on you stance on both sides. We really need a moderate party.

On Topic, from Gold to Platinum I have a fair amount of:

Vampires
Scapeshift
RDW
Esper Control
Calamity Red
Elementals
Feather decks
Grixis Planeswalkers

There have been others, but those are the main ones. I have yet to see a Nexus deck, but I am guessing those are hanging around at the Mythic level.

It's about the same meta than diamond. RDW/Frenzy is almost non existing. Bant ramp and Nexus are also in the mix.

Sorry, but if you won't concede, I won't loop Nexus either so you have to take your turn. And no, I can discard Nexus to hand size to never deck out even if I have fewer cards left in my library than you have life points (and use Tamiyo's minus to fill my hand if I didn't have enough cards to discard to hand size).

#NeverConcede
#SufferTogether

EDIT: Damn, I hate it when I have to do this, but so far every opponent quickly got the message and conceded.
