That already exists, Sins of the Past. It has to be expensive cause of stuff like Storm Herd

Except in legacy you can get it for 4 - Mizzix's Mastery

On a similar vein:

Retry

Sorcery
Cast target instant or sorcery card with converted mana cost 3 or less from your graveyard without paying its mana cost. Exile Retry.
Spells without mana costs were a mistake.

Just say “converted mana cost 1, 2 or 3” if you don’t want people to break it. There are no instant/sorcery spells that “naturally” cost zero

You could use one creature to fight three enemies (or fight one or two large enemies) and the spell wouldn't care that your creature already had lethal damage marked on it after the first fight, it'd keep fighting
