I prefer Remember the Fallen, Reviving Melody and the black equivalents since you get more of a reward (card advantage) by using the listed card type

Yeah they're pretty weak. It's supposed to be more that they're a mirrored pair but Melody and Fortuitous Find fill that brief already.

This isn't really relevant but Remember the Fallen is weird to me because white doesn't normally get unconditional Disentombs? But it does get graveyard play generally so it's not much of a stretch I suppose.

This is what Goblin Engineer SHOULD be, not that crud that's coming out in Modern Horizons. It would fit right in with stuff like Goblin Gardener.

I think MaRo said recently on Tumblr that they plan to start giving black some forms of enchantment destruction so that artifacts and enchantments can each be destroyed by three different colors (Naya and Abzan, respectively). I wouldn't expect white artifact destruction to go away anytime soon, although it is secondary in white.

The original rationale for more colors being able to destroy artifacts than enchantments is that artifacts are colorless and can go in more decks

Flavor wise it is weird for the civilised color to be smashing things, but can work if we assume they are unholy relics or something

Agreed. White wants to make people less dangerous without killing anyone (unless they really deserve it). It feels no remorse about breaking objects to achieve that.
