They're portrayed kind of inconsistently. Its clear that they lack memories of their past life, but whereas they're mindless and need to be commanded by a necromancer or fervently devoted (hence the alignment in many) wavers.

White orbs as eyes, yup that’s the angel. I wonder if Nissa has special part to play on this story or if it’s just visions. They’ve been on point so far. The fallin dragon, it could be Bolas but I think it’s Niv-Mizzet, didn’t he just become the new guild pact?

I'm ecstatic she has all four of her wings.

Yeah, that detail is the best. She also looks like she has a moustache.

I like that she's here, I like that she has four wings, I'm not a huge fan of her 'screaming rush' art, and I think she may be an actual viable commander since that ability could generate loads of CA with a good statline and cheap cmc.

So I'm personally glad to find out that Ral seems to fall into the "Duped into helping" category, rather than actively serving team Bolas.

Also, this may seem like an odd request, but can anyone think of neutral faced depictions of the planeswalkers? Ones where they are looking straight forward and not smiling too much? I got bored one night and found out I could get a 3d render of Liliana off the latest promo trailer, but there's limitations on how much the software I use can currently correct.

Curious to see how Dovin ends up, he is a bit of a bellend but it's hard to imagine him saying 'yeah actually i'm down for zombies killing everyone'

Judging from his quotes he's out for all planeswalkers. Its possible he believes Bolas' cull of other planeswalkers is beneficial on the long run.

So far, Kaya, Vraska, Liliana and Ral seem to have deserted Bolas, while Dovin, Domri, Tezzeret and Angrath(?) remain loyal to him, at least for most of the story.

I think Angrath is just doing what he does, which is pressganging people (zombies) into his crew.

I'm pretty sure someone asked MaRo and he said that Bolas has something on Angrath forcing him to be here and working for the dragon.

It'd be a bit amusing if Angrath had been told to get the Immortal Sun before Vraska.

Having the heroes look straight into the camera and smile while they violently defeat their enemies seems like questionable art direction. Gideon and Chandra both look really creepy in these.

Nevermind that, compositionally, these are a horrendous nightmare.
