Seen Captain Marvel, and I liked it.

People who think Captain Marvel is "unlikable" clearly have never seen her Avengers Assemble counterpart. Movie!Carol only smartasses when provoked. Assemble!Carol is just nasty.

Pretty much all Carol for the past 5 years, regardless of medium, have been an unpleasant person to be around.

I had serious problems with the movie, and yes, Carol was definitely one of those.
Skrulls were good characters though.

What exactly were the problems with her? I didn't really see any, but then again humans are a mystery to me

Same, as far as the movie is concerned. Other iterations vary on how abrassive she tends to be, with Avengers Assemble being the one that I do think warrants some severe criticism.

Where does the MCU go after Endgame? It would seem that most of the audience enthusiasm is for the more well-known and popularized heroes like Iron-Man, Captain America, Thor etc. I know they've got Captain Marvel, Strange, and Spider-Man waiting in the wings, but it feels as if the studio could be in an uphill battle establishing their new line of heroes post Endgame.

Disney bought fox

Which means they've gotten their hands on the fantastic four and xmen
If they were smart, that's where they'd be putting their money.
Though black panther and spider man are strong contenders.
Captain marvel is where they're confirmed to hang their hat though, which seems a worse choice, considering reception AND their inability to keep a book running for more than an average of four issues.
She's just not got a lot of stories to adapt.

I'm not a big X-man fan beyond the Deadpool movies and Logan, but I get the impression that Bryan Singer's been running on fumes with his last couple of X-Men movies, Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix.

Eh, James Mangold was the best director for that anyways.

I think the MovieBob interpretation has some weight. Singer may have directed Oscar-worthy films, but he just isn't great at action romps. The best X-Men movie (first class) was one of only 2 he didn't direct.

Er, he didn't direct The Wolverine or Logan.

X-2 got a load of praise back in the day, or seemed to from what I recall.

Er, he didn't direct The Wolverine or Logan.

I'm not counting those. Those aren't X-Men movies, those are X-Man* movies.

*Not to be confused with the character named "X-Man"**
**Serra forsake it, why? Why did they have to go and call him that?

I personally liked Days of Future Past or whatever it was called. But I have terrible tastes so who knows.

All the young x-men movies were excellent and nobody can tell me otherwise. I can't wait for dark phoenix.

I got around to seeing Aquaman. Better than I expected. Black Manta was neat. The movie makes me wonder if Cameron's Avatar sequels are gonna do good business at the box office; the kingdoms created for Aquaman were about on par with Pandora, visually, and the characters were all more likeable than any of the ones in Avatar.

The interpretation of the Amonkhet debacle is awesome.

I saw the new Hellboy movie.

I get mad nostalgia for the 2004 Hellboy movie.

I went into the 2004 Hellboy with no knowledge of the character or world and came out loving the film; it got me into the comics and Lovecraft. That said, the new one was superior to the 2004 version on a few levels. It did a better job of translating the source material and made excellent use of its rating to depict some delightfully twisted stuff; a warthog-fairy dismembering an abbey of monks, a witch with a closet of slaughtered babies in her creepy old shack, and some gags, like a monologuer getting half its face blown off while going on about its evil plans.

The source material used, aside from the Wild Hunt graphic novel included "The Chained Coffin," "Hellboy in Mexico," and "The Corpse," along with another more obscure Mike Mignola character, the vigilante Lobster Johnson.

The movie's greatest strength was the exploration of its themes about finding one's place in the world. Mostly through its use of Hellboy's destiny as the Beast of the Apocalypse. The screenwriters did a fantastic job in making you question whether or not Hellboy would accept his role and turn against humanity. This element made the movie more entertaining, as I found myself wondering if Hellboy would decide "**** mankind," and simply allow the faeries and creatures of shadow to reclaim Earth; it added an element of danger and unpredictability to the hero. Similarly, they used some of the more shocking scenes from the film as the turning point in Hellboy's journey toward his destiny.

The movie did have a few notable weaknesses, mostly in terms of CGI. Some of the CGI gore was obviously fake, and a scene from the trailers wasn't quite what I'd hoped it would be in the finished product. Similarly, the design for one of the CGI characters was a bit bland compared to everything else in the film. The marketing was also a major weakness - the first trailer was a terrible representation of the finished product.
