Been living through it myself. I've worked a whopping 72 hours this year so far.

Ugh brutal. I hope something good happens to us in 2019 and we both find employment somewhere we like

Well I'm still with the company but this year will be working toward starting my own home code/pest inspection business. Hope to have it certified, licensed and up and running by the end of the year.
I'm getting too old for these winter layoffs.

I hope it is. I've somehow always know that I'll never be truly successful or well off financially if I'm working for someone else. My problem is I get in with a company and get comfortable and don't feel like taking that jump. I'm pushing myself out of the comfort zone this year. It should be very worth the investment. Just a termite inspection goes for $250 and I know some realtors I can become clients of.
I know I'll have to pay my taxes and all that other good stuff but even with that can you imagine having two or three inspections a day?
A flashlight and icepick are the only tools really required for the job along with the knowledge. This isn't even counting me doing building code inspections.
I'm very excited to make this work.

Yeah me too! I couldn't ever hold down a 9-5. Now I run a Life Insurance agency with 400 independent agents. Started out knocking doors and making phone calls 8 years ago.
