I bought a box of Theros tonight and for each pack I will list the contents and everybody explains what card they would take in draft and why. Hopefully this will help everybody to evaluate cards and learn different though processes for drafting.

Here's the pack!

Gods Willing
Gray Merchant of Asphodel
Prescient Chimera
Fleetfeather Sandals
Disciple of Phenax
Ray of Dissolution
Wavecrash Triton
Opaline Unicorn
Titan's Strength
Traveling Philosopher
Ordeal of Thassa
Warriors' Lesson
Cutthroat Maneuver
Bow of Nylea

Pick away!

Bow. It both protects you and wins games.

Second choice would be gray merchant because that card is amazing.

Unicorn. You know how I feel about signets, but it is a creature too. Fixing, and not useless aside from that. Bow is close and obviously stronger, but so many of the green bombs in this set cost double green, plus there isn't any other good green coming back to you in this pack (I love lesson, but its just okay here.) I feel like if you take bow you have to luck out on what green you get. As a matter of fact, a ton of the bombs in this set have double mana requirements, which is why I extra like unicorn. It feels super boring to take unicorn first pick, especially here, but I think it is the smart move.

I think I'm with on this one. the merchant is the bee's knees but the bow just wrecks people. bomb rare is bomb.

Unicorn is a common, I think its safe to wait until the second pack to snatch one if you even need mana fixing. Bow has destroyed me in sealed and simply stopping people from getting it is good

Anyone who thought less of the Bow is literally retarded.

+1. Gray merchant is like the number one black common. Wins games for you.

But yeah, the bow is definite first pick material. So many useful modes.

I'd probably grab the bow as well. But then again, I am terrible at drafts and grab rares so hopefully one of them will help me later on, lol. (this is why I never draft, though I do enjoy cubes...)

There's really no contest here, the bow by far. Any other choice only goes to show you haven't played with or against it yet.

1st choice, Bow. Even if you don't wanna play green, you don't want someone else using that against you.

Merchant would be 2nd choice and Ordeal would be 3rd.

The ordeals are pretty good in general.

Dumb and playable aren't mutually exclusive. Design wise, bow is dumb.

Why?

Also, yes, picking Bow. Chimera looks good as an almost air elemental, but I don't know how it compares to other creatures in the set.

Bow is the best designed weapon.

The only experience I've had with the set is sealed right now, so take it for what it's worth, but I think the chimera is really solid.

The triton is also very good and no one talked about it here. It does require a little more support, but when it gets going, it becomes a pretty powerful tempo machine.
