The London Mulligan:

When you mulligan for the Nth time, you draw seven cards, then put N cards on the bottom of your library in any order.

We're still some time away from the official public playtest of the rule, but regardless, what do you think of it?

To add a bit more context, this is something they're trying out at Mythic Championship II (London). It may or may not become the new mulligan rule.

I think this sounds great for limited. The main concern (which a lot of people have already said) is how much it will help combo decks, especially in legacy and modern. Any deck that wants to aggressively mulligan for specific cards gets a boost from this.

That said, they've apparently been playtesting this mulligan internally for a while, and if they think it'll improve the game, I trust them.

I am a big fan of Hearthstone Mulligan. It may be too late to impliment that one, though.

This thing sounds interesting too. Nobody likes being mana-screwed again and again during a mulligan, and this will often prevent that.

Does this mean we are throwing out the Scry rule?

I wonder to what degree this will help three color Mana bases in limited.

While original Mulligan's were too harsh, the scry Mulligan's felt very close to the right power level for me. This one seems slightly too good.

I personally almost never have to Mulligan two or more times, which is where the London Mulligan really shines. Many of my peers do, because they build thier decks badly. I am concerned I am losing a deckbuilding advantage.

On the other hand, I can appreciate that game design should allow average and even below average players to avoid non-games, and not just above average players.

So far I tentatively like it. Granted, I'm much more of a Limited player these days and my Modern deck of choice loves fishing for Leylines and such, so maybe I'm just the target audience for this sort of thing.

I dislike this proposed new rule. Primarily because of the inevitable judge calls from a player not sure how many times they mulliganned.

Hopefully after every mulligan they will go through the thought process of deciding which cards they would put back and look at the others which should be about as good as drawing a hand of fewer cards.
