I'm not sure what I was thinking with this deck. It combines small dudes, removal, and some bizarre top end choices

Without a full playset of duals, tricolor decks are suicide.

Why are people more concerned about the mana base than the prodigious growths

Because i'm trying to give constructive criticism and want you to understand that you were screwed before you put a single non nonland card in your deck.

Fair enough, but I don't think it's the most important reason why the deck is bad. If I had come up with the idea of "control deck with prodigious as finisher" before I had decided what colors the deck was, then the deck would have been doomed even before I decided to make it 3-color. By the way, I do have four "untapped duals" in there. I would like some evolving wilds too but I haven't cracked any in packs of RIX yet

That deck uses full playsets (4x4) of all currently available dual lands, and even then it feels sub-optimal. It will get better of course with next set shocklands.

Well Jeskai is Boros + Izzet and both are guilds that are in Guilds of Ravnica. Abzan would be Golgari + Selesnya and both are also guilds in Guilds of Ravnica. The mana should work, no?

This deck, however, I have no idea what it's trying to do and so can't comment.

I'm having fun with Abzan control, only in mid-gold ranks at the moment but just started earlier this week. Assassin's Trophy and Dawn of Hope are overperforming as for the most part I don't care if they ramp as long as I can kill their experimental frenzy.
