It's that magical time of year again where we come together to logic and puzzle and piece together who is naughty and who is nice. This is Dethy.

If you're unfamiliar with Dethy, this game will be for at least five players. In the standard five variant four players are cop roles of varying sanity and one player will be the scum Krampus. The cops will represent each of the four sanities (Sane, Insane, Naive, and Paranoid) but will be unaware of which one they are.

In the event more than five players sign up additional roles will be added as I see fit. And by that I mean as it amuses me. In the event 10-11 players sign up we will double dethy.

The game will start with Night 0, in which all abilities but the mafia kill will be usable. Progressing into day players will reveal their results and attempt to lynch the Krampus. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

It's pretty logic based at it's core. A standard dethy game with veteran dethheads can usually be figured by day 2 with relative consistency.

Well, it's an interesting setup...
Altough, I think, it's more based on luck than in deduction.
If a cop scans three individuals, and one has a different role than the others, the exception is mafia. But you won't have time to scan three individuals. There is cooperation, but it's hard, because out of 5 players, 2 gain no useful information whatsoever, and one is a mafia. So, to cooperate successfully, sane and insane cop must supernaturally recognise each other.

all mafia is essentially luck

i think all of the information in a dethy setup can be used to narrow down the sanities and thus the results though.

Well, if there are a lot of players (15 or something), including a good number of info-gathering roles, and as long as the person's role is 100% accurately revealed upon death, the game can be more about logic and "who said what" and Mafiia tying to make *coherent* lies.

One Night variants are also more deduction than luck.
