Well, there are some obvious choices, like monored frenzy, that should work...

But I'm thinking that some Dimir can be good too, surveil should help to allow good chains, and when all cards have +value, Thought Erasure, Rats, DISINFORMATION CAMPAING (umm reusable cascade ftw?) should be better than usual, or am I wrong? Lol, I even want to try Demon of Catasthopes at last

Gonna try, brb

Thoughts?

Ok, I'll share mine

I'm still trying monored Frenzy, and one thing unexpected is that Wizard's Lighning doesn't trigger cascade when casted with discount...so I cut them, the Lavarunners...and the Firebrands too cause too many 1cc spells gets akward. Steam Kins, and anything with haste is nice (Phoenix, Cpt. Lannery, Piromantic Pilgrims, Monstrosaurs) are pretty good, same as Risk Factor

Anyways, it seems everyfakingbody is playing the shell [Ajani's Welcome/Pridemate/Leonin Warleader + Hawks and Legions Landing] which makes absurd amounts of life, and it's becoming reeeally boring, so I dunno if I'm gonna keep playing

I have still to try Dimir, but right now it's already looking way too slow...but maybe an ultradefensive build focusing in milling out those oponents with 100 life can work, lol

Another thing really annoying for me, about Arena in general, not this challenge, is that under Windows 7, every 4-5 games or so the game freezes...I have lost count of how many games I have lost that way :censored::censored:

Update: yep, it seems in Discard Dimir there can be something...Open the Graves+Golden Demis/Ritual of Shoot makes all those Rats and Imps and Hired Poisoners, all of them crappy but required to survive and to shrink opponent's hand into an actual threat

Pity I don't have many Mill cards, bought a pair of Psychic Corrosion but I dunno...Patient Rebuilding would be nice, but I don't want to expend a rare wildcard on it...still, the discard plan seems legit, I don't really know if the mill part is required, except against White Absurdlifegain decks

My first list is really akward, as expected...I need to add bounce, cause between Thought Erasure, Rats, Imps and Campaings I have way too many discard spells and half the time they don't do their suppossed job

If I manage to make something semi-good, I'll post the full list

C'mon...nobody is playing this challenge? it cost between 400 and 200 gold, usually, and gives you a rare and and uncommon...in fact, I have been lucky and got 2 mythics out of the two RedFrenzy rounds I played, a Vivien and a Verix, not bad at all, lol

I feel alone  I'm gonna adopt fetal position and weep, u have been warned

Red burn is the best deck by far. You get free burn or Goblin Guides each turn, i played 5 or 6 events and i always got 5 wins. Lifegain heavy decks are tough, but not popular and not impossible to beat, the other ones are too slow, since i can win with 3/4 cards in hand. I won against an opponent at 16 life with 2 Fountain of Renewals and Niv Mizzet on the battlefield.

My 1 drops are Lavarunner and Shock only, and a bunch of 2 drops because that's all you need, to cascade in all your 8 1 drops. Wizard's Lightning probably the best card, being a bolt for 1 mana but cascading into 2 drops as well. One during your turn and one during your opponent turn and game is over. Risk Factor another good card since the pressure is so much that the punisher card is even more effective. Frenzy is ok, just a couple copies, but the game is decided by the 2 drops really.

Other decks are cute, but this one is insanely consistent.

Not my experience...of the last 10 games I played, 8 of them has been against Monowhite with turn 1 Hawks/Ajani's Welcome/Hunted Witness/Legion's Landing followed by Pridemates...of those, Hawks are the easiest to race, and I have done so...but t1 Welcome into t2 Pridemate + another Welcome are almost unwinnable. At least 4 of those 8 had a t2 4/4 Pridemate, already becoming quite step...and if they survive till t5 to attack with Leonin Warlearder, which usually mean they already have 2 Welcomes in the field, you are done

I have played agains three, probably four times more monowithe than monored. Monored vs monored is a coin toss...same as I guess would be monowhite vs monowhite, just that incredibly boring and long...that's why I refuse to build that deck. Of course, without cascade monowhite has barely nothing to do against monored...but Welcome + Pride + any kind of tokens is a nightmare

Have you played today? I think everybody is copying that shell in the last hours, I started this morning and it has been White Christmas all the way...I have played twice as much against monowhite than the rest combined, easily, and my record is negative against them. Against the other shell, like monogreen, or radkos etc, monored stomps on them, that I concurr

I tried several decks.
My best results were with Izzet Guttersnipe.
vs monored, it s hard. It depends a lot on Electrostatic Field to provide blockers.
I m still trying to adjust it.

7 Mountain
8 Island
1 Steam Vents
2 Sulfur Falls
4 Izzet Guildgate

4 Opt
4 Shock

3 Goblin Electromancer
4 Lightning Strike
4 Radical Idea
2 Chart a Course
4 Electrostatic Field

4 Guttersnipe
3 Wizard's Lightning
3 Risk Factor

3 Chemister's Insight

Spoiler

Wait, this is becoming ridiculous...in my 3ยบ run, I got Aurelia...3 mythics out of three??? Is this a bug, or should I buy a lotery ticket today?

Edit: wew, in the 4 finally I got a rare...tho a good one, lol, March of the Multitudes

And Dimir is certainly too slow in any incarnation, now that people is optimizing the decks...Boros in my new fav here

Holy ****! My mono white is straight up balls in this format! I should have been doing it all weekend. On my first run and 3-0 and no one came near to touching me on those games. Let's see how this plays out.

This is the most kick-butt deck for this event. It usually wins by T4 or T5, wrecks your opponent's hand, gains life to have an edge against mono-red and just burns face all day long.
Lightning strike on opp's upkeep ftw is my current favourite play.

1 Swamp (RIX) 194
4 Viashino Pyromancer (M19) 166
12 Mountain (RIX) 195
4 Sovereign's Bite (M19) 120
4 Dragonskull Summit (XLN) 252
4 Cinder Barrens (M19) 248
4 Shock (M19) 156
2 Ghitu Lavarunner (DAR) 127
4 Electrostatic Field (GRN) 97
4 Lightning Strike (M19) 152
4 Risk Factor (GRN) 113
4 Wizard's Lightning (DAR) 152
2 Sword-Point Diplomacy (XLN) 126
1 Guttersnipe (M19) 145
4 Vicious Rumors (GRN) 89
2 Radiating Lightning (DAR) 138

I actually managed to burn out one of those annoying mono-white life-gain decks that had 3 fountains in play as well ajani's welcome, ashes of the abhorrent and multiple mares too. That was so satisfying!

Try it out while you can!

Wait...do you play something similar in regular games? Given you live close to me and our timezone it's the same, I think I could have played against you, I certainly remember that Radkos or quite similar, which is unusual to find given the lack of shocklands...and maybe once in this challenge too. My nick in Arena is "maggot" and I tend to play horribly bad, or timeout due to having right now a lousy internet connection, plus my habitual game freezes, lol

I'm having a little blast playing a mutant hybrid of monored and monowhite, with some mentoring but not focused on that, multiple Ajanis Welcome go really well with Legion Warboss and Rekindling Phoenixes, plus all the burn, it seems

The best part are the rewards...in five challenges, I have gotten a Verix, a Vivien, a March of the Multitudes, an Aurelia and the last has been a History of Benalia, all of which I had just 0-1 copy before this run, for like what must have been a 600 gold investment...it doesn't get better than that, me thinks :cloud9:

I do have a reegular rakdos burn deck, but I don't play it that much because it's still incomplete (I actually blew 2 rare WCs on the last 2 dragonskull summits for the event deck).
These weekend events have been pretty awesome for me in terms of collection building. I pulled a bunch of mythics (including a Vivien Reid as well) and double rares most of the time. If you take into account a good result (4 or 5 wins), your actually getting free rares/mythics. I can't complain.
My user is easy to spot, it's haven_pt and I can't say I remember playing you yet, but if you want to challenge me, be my guest.

Nice, I'd like to...I think I'd have recognized your nick, so probably we haven't played yet

but first let me try to make the game work, lol...I just contacted Wizards cause the crashing issue has become absurd...right now, most of the games I lose is because crashes, in the last Singleton game, before kicking me to the desktop, the ilustrations in the cards went pitch black for like 5 turns...just to name one of the many errors I'm experiencing of late

I mean, look at my last log, and it isn't even today's worst:

I'm becoming pretty pissed :ahem: :censored:

One surprisingly good that I hadn't the opportunity to test, but indeed to suffer a couple times and both times totally run over me was Merfolks, snowballs like crazy with cascade and all the internal synergies...Ritual of Soot is one of the few cards that stops them cold, and not much more...even Clarion is most of the times not enough cause they have already grown past it...and Nova tends to be too slow, let's not talk about Star of Extinction, lol
