Magic's a simple game, 2 people take turns playing cards and in the end Divinevert wins 2-0...

**** Arena when the opponent does not attack with Mist-Cloaked Herald against my two Islands on turn 2. Seriously? Arena's auto-priority option revealing I'm holding Merfolk Trickster makes me want to turn on full control every game.

I wonder what's the difference between RW-Aggro and Boros-Aggro. I suppose RW is the one based on Bayesta93's deck. Let's see how they all fare.

I'd say boros aggro uses the ravnica boros mechanics like mentor, while RW aggro is probably mono-white with a red-splash not necessarily focused on mentor.

The names are not consistent anyhow. Michael Bernat and Andrew Elenbogen run the exact same 60 cards maindeck and their sideboards are fairly similar as well (Difference is literally: 2 Baffling End, Make a Stand and Tajic vs. 2 Response/Resurgence, Banefire and the third Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants). Yet Michael Bernat's deck is White Weenie while Andrew Elenbogen is Red-White Aggro.
And for the record, LSV also has a mono-white mainboard with Boros cards only in the sideboard (counts as Red-White Aggro as well)...:coffee:

Wow, no golgari?

I'm actually surprised that boros/white-red aggro dominated the top-8. I've found the deck to be very hit and miss on the best-of-1 ladder. I guess the explanation probably has to do with those decks having strong sideboards against golgari and the rest of the meta.

Rustwing falcon in a top-8 pro-tour list? Lol.

Fear the suntail hawk...
(I actually made the call that Healer's hawk looked like a good card during spoiler season and I don't remember anyone really agreeing with me.)

I only need 12 more rare and 8 more uncommons to make that red/white aggro list lol. It doesn't look that much more threatening to me than B/W vampires or B/W Knights, but I guess I'll have to play against it more to see it's power.

I played red-white aggro at the end of last season and start of this season with stupid good win-rates.
From last season, the card I most missed was the cartouche, which was awesome for giving you the city's blessing, for crazy damage with pride of conquerors.

I eventually got bored with the deck after unlocking it day-1 and the I'm only missing the loxodons really, that I've picked up 0 so far. Also missing some knights of grace and adantos that I failed to foresee as meta worthy At the start and ran out of WCs after I got bored with the deck.

Would have loved to see chance for glory in one of those lists. I've pulled some ridiculous wins with that card.

Without adanto vanguard would these w aggro decks still be viable? It's been an all-star against control for me in boros angels. Idk, but I don't think these decks will reign over standard for long. As i say that the top4 are all W/r aggro now.

But Esper has game to that deck IMO, the deck does not feel like the RDW piles, this one is very beatable if the meta floods with this aggro decks then it is easier for control to find the right answers, Golgari is the biggest loser but I dunno I don't think the boros pile is going to be king for long.

T1 Healer hawk or Legions Landing are here to stay
and you now have to play around Heroic reinforcements coz that card will flood Boros piles.... I already build a bit more beefy pile that run 5-1 and 5-1 on CC.

I dont know if the Pridemate tech will be that popular... but it might

Exactly, the list you should discuss is not really the top 8, but how well people did in constructed: https://magic.wizards.com/en/events/cov ... 2018-11-11

Having jumped the Boros-bandwagon already, I wonder how to handle RDW. Is that just not a factor on the PT?
So far I felt rather helpless against this Arena-Meta-defining deck.

I'm genuinely surprised monoblue tempo reached 10-0. The deck in my experience is just not that consistent.

Now that the PT is over, I'm also thinking about which deck to netdeck. I have at the moment 7 Mythic wildcards and 12 Rare wildcards (after spending a further 3 rare wildcards on Warkite Marauders). The decks I'm seeing most of is monored, monoblue, and to a lesser extent WR aggro. Are there any decks that have a good matchup against all three? In my experience monoblue is quite strongly disfavoured vs. monored, but WR aggro is 50/50 (since Merfolk Trickster ownz Adanto Vanguard).

I'm sort of tempted to play Selenesya, either midrange or tokens. If not Selenesya, then probably Grixis or Dimir control.

@Sol77 - yeah, you basically accept a bad monored matchup if you play WR. You also accept a bad B/G matchup. Martin Juza said as much: https://www.channelfireball.com/article ... f-ravnica/. It's kinda surprising all those WR decks made top 8, since BG was the most popular deck.

Of which guild do you have the most rare lands? I doubt you can (want to) build a deck for which you need to buy 8 lands first. Of the three viable mono decks you already have one and I wouldn't want to craft Chainwhirlers and Steam-Kins to join that Zerg. White is approaching the top now and for the time being you can do so without the Boros splash. Off the bat that loses to RDW just the same though, so I think we need to make an Arena adaption. Maybe the kitty package (lifegain starring Pridemates) is the way to go. I just don't want to lose too much of an egde against Control for I hate losing 10+ minutes games.

edit: Haha, I already read that, too. I don't feel that weak vs Golgari though. I posted about my sessions in Devilwuster's Constructed thread and so far (limited sample size) I am 7-0 vs Golgari - with 0 Tocatlis.

What tmp wrote, and also: how on Earth are you 7-0 vs. Golgari? Did you not play against Wildgrowth Walker? A curve of Wildgrowth Walker into Jadelight Ranger is worth 6 life and a 3/5 blocker for the Golgari deck. Even if no Jadelight Ranger, the Wildgrowth Walker is hard for you to attack through (especially if it's boosted once by Merfolk Branchwalker), you have no way to remove it on turn 2, and Find//Finality wipes you out as well.
