I think his mana is probably about right for what his build is currently. With Sealed, you run the relevant gates and lockets you have, but sometimes it's going to be ugly.

Almost had game 2. Attacking for lethal next turn with a 9/9 Troll, Wurm and the Guildmage and dude hit me with some weird crap that tapped my Troll and made the Wurm a 3/1!

Well... won some gems and got some packs. I might do that again. Got an Etrata in one of the packs. Got to build something around her.

How did you come to that conclusion?

8 Drafts at 750 gems cost the same as 3 Sealed at 2k gems. So for those 6k gems you either get:

8x 3 15-boosters with the ability to pick what you want, 8 guaranteed and ~2 bonus 8-card-boosters
or
3x 6 15-boosters without getting to choose and 9 8-card-boosters

Both modes enable you to go infinte at 6 wins (technically 5.5 in Draft). This is a nice page I just found where you have all the info in one place:

So Draft with its discount wins pretty easily, don't you think? The only argument I could think of is that you might get more 5th copies through drafting by always choosing the same cards, so you get less cards for your collection. But, you choose them for a reason, don't you? It's not like you suddenly want Vicious Rumors over Burglar Rat


Don't we suggest 18 lands minimum for 3-colored limited decks?

I think that Sultai pool looked really good, though mana is a nightmare with so many double-costs.

Three wins so far with this one. I guess the matchmaking is a little off. Just played against someone at least one rank, not tear, higher than me. Mentoring a Hawk works out more than once for me now.

Won enough to enter again. That's not bad. One thing I've realized is Doom Whisper is the **** in this format. I think every game I got him on the board I won. Dead Weight performed awesomely.

Think sealed will be worthwhile after tomorrow? Gotta imagine most players are going to switch to quick draft and the competition in sealed will be quite a bit stiffer with just the dedicated players left.

Hope we see a Bo3 sealed queue at some point.

Kind of a **** draw on Rares to be honest. At least the way I look at it. No Doom Whisperer this time.

That card is an absolute beast in Sealed.



I went Boros. In the games where I haven't built a deck with the Demon in it Boros has been pretty strong. There was more than one quality card so I couldn't see the value in going anywhere else really. That rare Knight is ok I guess but nothing to build a deck because of. Along the same lines there are so many cards I don't know the names of that Ego might be a very, very bad card for me to play. Gruesome Menagerie however looks very interesting and I might try and figure out a way to squeeze it in somehow.

Cut the Garrison Sergeant for the 3rd Barging Sergeant, cut the Plaza for a Mountain.

I was kind of thinking the same. I had the Garrison and a Gate out last game but with only two Gates, how many times will that happen and I put the Plaza in just for it being a Gate. This game I just played felt strong and I won but I think you might be right.

I had to concede out of frustration. I'm sure you can see why.

Don't think I'd attack with Etrata there either. Having a 3/5 on the table seems way more valuable than removing a 2/1 against boros. At best it bricks you, at worst it still gets a 1 for 1 or more likely a 2 for 1 if you have to blow a trick plus cratermaker to kill it. I'd be attacking with both watchers though for sure.

If a swathcutter/truefire/vigil came down he'd be very happy to still have etrata available to delete it.

Talking about being screwed by mana

So I'm wondering... with it being core m19... is it really wise to play this set? I don't follow every card ever but I'm thinking this one might not be worth it.
Thoughts?

I'm guessing Sealed with M19 isn't very popular considering the no responses. I've got a little over 4000 gems and was wondering if it would be worth it. Wondering what I really need from that set.
