I had a warchief in my singleton deck and it wasn't bad, but also wasn't great... Probably worse than the other cards I have in there already though... If only it were a +1/+1 lord... Maybe trash master... Dunno, I wasn't gonna go goblins tribal, but it seems like quite a few of the better red cards are goblins... Whirl them chains!

After a bit of experimenting I've settled on a constructed deck to do the daily gold on:

1 Blood Fast
2 Graveyard Marshal
4 Lightning Strike
1 Chupacabra
2 Vraska's Contempt
1 Doom Whisperer
2 Angrath

and...

23 Rat Colonies!

A truly original and inspired deck! With the added bonus that I don't have to craft anything apart from 4 rats. Funny that I didn't play rats in singleton and it looks like I'll play it in constructed

From a brief test it was pretty good, and fast games.

edit: and now I feel bad, a lot of people don't seem to get how to play against it - your 5/5 is just a blocker man it's not your precious, don't let me swing through, trade for the rats and you probably win or at least you don't auto lose.

edit2 - annnd a few wins got me up to silver where I'm seeing decks that aren't remotely beatable. That Light of Hope? enchant is pretty good against a pile of x/1s It'll be fine for grinding out the gold cap quickly at least. Really want a relevant format to come up for quick draft soon.

So... I took my Izzet control to the Meta challange and oh boy... that thing is filled with control builds... best result has 4 wins and lost to an opposing Niv...

Lava coil was MVP
G3 vs Mono red Keld
He left me at 5 both games I swept his board- Except for Firebrand coz he is a pirate, and I was forced to use one Lightning Strike on him later but overall I managed to survive---- barely but still
G4 vs Another Control build this time was Azorius
He had tons of dead cards coz my only creature was Niv - I trimmed the Goblins and Phoenixes for this kinda of edge-
G5 Vs Jeskai control with Niv, Teferi, and Sarkhan
This one got crazy but he managed to resolve his Niv one turn before I did... and I punted horribly when I got the chance to kill his Niv with Ral missing one point of damage with 2 draw spells and mana... damn!
Interesting pick from the opponent
He ran Opt instead of Anticipate which works better with Niv
He ran one Missions Briefing -after SB

That mode is really hard the final reward is huuge but going 7-0 in B03 is super difficult.

I'm in my first attempt at it, currently 2-0 with Esper Control.

Esper control it's looking quite good, you should really share that pile... I´m missing most of the dual lands but Esper has all the cheap answers Teferi and Chromium, I think Esper is going to be the Control deck... it just destroys Aggro with Ritual of Soot.

Well the first PTQ results are in, really surprising amount of variety too!

Jeskai Control had the best record, not surprising given how many strong cards it gets to run, but then a pile of midrange decks came 2nd to 5th which did surprise me. Be interesting to see how the PT goes.

Hmm, the Jeskai gateway deck looks so fun. I'm short like 30ish rares and a handful of mythics though, maybe I'll get a chance before the cards rotate out

Thanks for posting the link. I find the Boros angels deck interesting (because I'm a Lyra fan after all), but I find it curious that many of them run Adanto Vanguard. I suppose they need to have a 2-drop, but it's Adanto Vanguard. It's a 1/1 unless it's attacking, i.e. it's an aggressive card. Lyra doesn't look like an aggressive card at all, and neither does Shalai or Resplendent Angel.

I find it amusing what is missing from the list here.

Also, the Vanguard in Boros Angels makes complete sense especially since all of the angels are aggressive, save Shalai.

That's amazing tech... Azor´s Gateway will be everywhere and Exp//Exp is going to be huge too.

I went and did a constructed run with my (still slightly incomplete) mono-red deck.
Holy cow! The hate is real! I played against 3 ajani's pridemate 90% life-gain decks (won the other 2 games against non-lifegain decks).
I guess lifegain.deck is good against mono-red and counter-strike, but will auto-pay to everything else... Just my luck...

Well, people have to adapt to those Steam-Kin decks with a gazillion Lightning Strikes

I actually lost a game to that deck I can't figure out how, I had multiple lifelinker beating down and gaining me life, I kept putting on pressure and he was basically just attacking with his curious unlockables, then suddenly he has lethal next turn? Wtf?
I'm also facing plenty of esper and Jeskai too.

5.5% for mono blue

I'm trying to figure out a deck to build for grinding quick constructed. It has to be available for 5 mythic, 6 rare, 18 uncommon, and 15 common wildcards. I've opened maybe 20-25 packs so I may have some of what's needed already.

I've been looking at Mono Red Aggro, Mono Green Stompy, and Mono Blue Tempo. Which of these three decks has the better matchups vs the most-played decks in the meta right now? Is there another deck I could put together with these requirements that would probably do better than any of the 3? Feel free to link me to a deck you recommend. Thanks!
