There could be a color matters component in the 3rd "Set on Ravnica but not a Ravnica set" in the Ravnica block. We also have a new core set coming out andwhatever's after return to return to Rav.

Apex of Power from M19 suggests that M19 may have a strong play-one-color component. Par for a course as far as core sets are concerned.

Also, don't go crazy here. The MMM cycle is FIVE cards. It doesn't dictate what will happen in Ravnica.

It's legitimately an interesting line up, but I could honestly stand if they were mostly reprints...

I think we are only missing one blue common, feels a bit weird.

What if...there are zero new mechs in Ravnica 3? What if it's 1/3 Ravnica 1 mechs, 1/3 RTR mechs, and 1/3 returning mechs from other blocks?

It took me a second to realize you were talking about mechanics and not robot suits. I was very confused.

Um, why are we so caught up in semantics?

Do we think Ravnica 3 will have all-new MECHANICS or don't we?

Printing a new expansion with zero new mechanics sounds like a bad way to get players excited. I would be very surprised if they did that.

Maybe 1/3 Rav, 1/3 RetRav 1/3 new, but we'll definitely see new mechanics somewhere. I guess all the guild mechanics could be returning mechanics, but we'll have new nonguild mechanics.

Even if we saw some return, I think the Dimir would have to have a new mechanic. As I recall, they deemed both of those a failure.

With the recent reprint craze, i'd love them to reprint cavern of souls along with the whole Sword of X and Y cycle

Knowing Wizards (And the last time Cavern got reprinted) they'd be Mythic Rares in overpriced, underprinted sets that manage to cost more than the original printing.

guildgates are back for some reason

We know that there will be three big sets. And MaRo shat on Dragon's Maze in Magic Magic, so set three won't be anything like Dragon's Maze. That leaves two options:

1) The remaining two sets are 3 guilds and 2 guilds, with the rest of the set eaten up by Bolas
2) Ravnica Allegiance will have 5 guilds and the 3rd set will be something not-particularly-Ravnica. Very light on gold cards, but heavy on one-color or hybrid cards.

They told us back on announcement day that Guilds of Ravnica and Ravnica Allegiance would each have five guilds.

Then I'll hold to prediction #2

3rd set will be 10 guilds right? I mean dragon's maze was terrible but that's because it was a small set played with 2 large sets in draft. Not because it was a Gold set with 10 playable guilds. It could also be "effectively" a 3 color set.
