Read through Peter F. Hamilton's The Void Trilogy. An excellent blend of sci-fi and fantasy.

Currently trying to attain interest in The Great Forgetting by James Renner. Some sort of conspiracy thriller, though I can't admit I have felt particularly thrilled so far.

The Collected Short Fiction of C. J. Cherryh

I like that the fantasy elements sidestep the Tolkien Bottleneck. Very different tone from her sociologically hard novels.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It's one of the best books I've ever read. It feels purely american...

I reread The Hobbit. I compare the book is better than the movie. I should meditate a bit more, but for sure it is one of my favorite books!

Way Station by Clifford Simak. Heard it was a sci-fi classic and decided to give it a read. First 50 pages are promising.

Since I last checked in, like, a year ago, I've read (or, more accurately, I can remember having read; my brain is full of relatively benign holes):

I am reading Lolita right now, my brother said that he felt some sympathy for the protagonist and I've heard that people do but up to where I've read (the first couple chapters of part 2) I really don't.

Also I'm learning to play the violin which is a lot classier than the friggin banjo

Read Borne by Jeff Vandermeer. Would probably recommend for anyone who likes post-apoc type stuff.

Currently working through the other stories part of Summa Elvetica: A Casuistry of the Elvish Controversy & Other Stories by Vox Day. I like the general content, though he seems to have a sort of issue that all of the protagonists of the stories seem to see the world in the same way. Like, I'm reading one about a Goblin right now and it feels the same as the MC from every other story, the only distinguishing things being the way they say things every so often really.

I just read Harry Harrison's Invasion: Earth. It was pretty good, a real page turner, if not impressive for many of its ideas. I really liked the short 3-5 page chapters that usually end on a big reveal. It's a little bit like reading a comic srip- there's an overarching story, but each section ends on a high note. Sadly, the last big twist was also pretty easy to see coming.
