No Champion of wits or Essence scatter?

Those seem to be standard in the builds that show up on the ladder.
Played against a Gift version of this deck today, that submitted the counters for dig and more creatures. I guess the formula is to throw all the Scarab gods you own into every deck and hope for the best (not saying this is your case, but the ladder seems like it).
Not a deck I particularily like, boring as hell to play against, so its a good thing mono-red can usually beat it (At least until they start spending WCs on proper dual lands)

I used to run both but the deck has changed a lot since the early iterations.
I don't really feel like I need the scatters when I got so much black creature removal anyway and champion is easily neutered by instant removal with his draw trigger on the stack.
I need my counters for control-mirrors, non-creature threats and protecting my own threats so I prefer hard counters.
I really love Supreme Will, in the early game they work as hard counters and later I can use them to dig for real counters or sweepers or whatever else I might need.

Scarab god and champion of wits are such a nice combo me likes
