Ready Player One had a lot of heart. It was clearly a passion project and it really carries through to the film.
It's definitely not a movie for everyone, but it knows who it is for.
I think, aside from one or two really legitimate bad transitions, most of the criticism is going to come from either those that just don't get it, or those who are just looking for reasons not to like it.

I'm intentionally not trying to see that movie because it just turned me off during the trailers. Like, I know the general story and I am sure I would like the movie, something just seemed off.

Who is it for?
(I am undecided whether I should see it or not. I don't know anything about it other than what was in the trailer. Trailers seemed weird, but I generally like SciFi / Fantasy / Games).

It's for nerd culture enthusiasts, or heck, just pop culture junkies.
Chances are, if at any point in the trailer you said "hey look, it's _________!" you'll dig it.

There's a new show on cartoon network: Craig of the creek
So far, it's okay.

But mostly I'm bringing it up because there were some major Magic references.

I haven't watched Craig of the Creek yet. It's on my list though. It feels like one of those shows like Adventure Time or early Steven Universe, where the first season or so may be what it needs to find its feet and I may be more inclined to give it a go if people are still happy with it by season two.

From what I've watched, it's much more in the vein of something like clarence in being a down to earth show. Except clarence wasn't very good.
But Craig has very much been a quaint little show with a few really good jokes so far. Not anything enthralling, but some decent writing. Nothing awkward.

I should check the pedigree for the show. This feels like it has a lot of veteran talent on it.

It has people from Clarence and from SU. I don't remember who but it looked neat. Too many shows to watch though.

Its cute, and sometimes the protagonist is well written, but often he feels like the stereotype of an ideal kid. Miss Animal Abuser and Redneck Redhead don't endear me to the rest of the cast.

Is Craig McCracken still working in the animation business?

Finally got myself around to seeing Justice League. Surprisingly, I enjoyed Aquaman and Flash. I also liked the lowkey noirish approach they took to Steppenwolf's acquisition of the mother boxes. I would have kept the original design for Steppenwolf, had him speaking that chittery alien language from the deleted scene in BvS, and kept their original plan for the mother boxes (pieces of Steppenwolf's mother inside the boxes, with Steppenwolf trying to assemble them to gain the strength to overthrow Darkseid).

Deadpool 2 looks like fun - a Justice League/Avengers headed by DP would literally have to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory imo.

So uh Legion. Season 2 started so strong I was pretty blown away by how good jt was. For me it was the best new show of 2017 and now with this season it may just become my favorite show period. I do reccomend if you watch it and dont actually know anythung about the character in the comics, dont look his comic bio up. I feel like it may give you certain expectations and also spoil some really awesome future stuff. And for thise who were thinking about watching jt but werent sold yet let me share a very tiny spoiler from season 2:

Spoiler

Also I know that producers dont have a ton of effect always but Jeph Loeb is one of the executive producers. Sooooo

I don't think Craig has any projects he's directly responsible for at the moment.

And of everything you aid about Justice League, I can only disagree with your opinion on the Flash. I haaaaated Ezra Miller. On a few levels.

Just watched Rampage.
It was a'ight.

Mostly it's just good to see a little more life being breathed back into the kaiju genre after so long.

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay was a good showing for Deadshot and Bronze Tiger.

Is Assault on Arkham worth a watch?

It's pretty decent.
It has the real Amanda Waller in it, rather than that twig they replaced her with, so there's that.

Despite being outrageously fun and cool, Pacific Rim: Uprising filled my dumb movie quota for a good long while, so I'm gonna pass on Rampage, despite having the childhood nostalgia that I'm sure the producers were banking on.

I had the random idea to reflavor the game terms in Dominaria (set) with more workplace terminology (MSE file). While there's probably better terms for some creature types and keywords, the terminology changes held up better than I thought for the most part when spreading the translation through the set. Except Josu. I don't think there's a way to translate Josu without sounding racist. It also took way too long to do for a whim.
