Looks like there's gonna be a new set, so we might as well hear what the NGAers think about the new cards.

Anybody excited about any card in particular?

I'm happy to see a rakdos walker and the red 1-drops look interesting. Looks like the ixalan tribes are going to get another Push and plenty of high-cost powerful effect cards, so rampish decks are gonna be a thing too.

That Dire Fleet Poisoner may be the best removal in the block.

Journey to eternity is the sweetest card imo, hope we get a good sacrifice outlet in standard to abuse it!

That could be pretty amazing for an early face burn out.

Considering there is a Green creature that untaps lands in Ixalan and a blue one in Amonkhet that untaps Permanents, the tolarian academy crazyness potential is pretty high.

The big question is: What are you gonna do with a sh@t load of mana? Gain 50 million life? Can't remember if there are any X fireball spells in standard atm.

By the time you get that artifact flipped you will be at 1 life. Lol

Yah that's because you know my ass would flip it and torment everyone. Seems like a really fun combo in a confluence deck.

Also you don't necessarily need to fully aim to flip it, it is just a looter on its own.

it also gives you 5 life on flipping so is guaranteed 6 mana! (assuming your opponent isn't cheating and attacking you the turn before it untaps)

Just started on the new set after the wipe. Not redeemed any mythic yet and not even opened 1 pack so far. Rank now works so hit beginner but with a mono black, basically I was getting mana issues with 2 colour (no patience lol) so the aggro / evasion mono black got me there. Know it will not cut it as I progress but there seem so many valid builds you could focus on. I saw a decent 3 colour deck (Grixis) I think but you would need a starter for 10 from the common / uncommon and then flesh out with the wildcards. Problem at mo is its too early to gauge what I may enjoy playing more but after grinding for a few packs it may become clearer based on the mythics / rares opened.

Anyone got a favourite theme / idea they are working on? Also will need to decide if I go for the new set - probably as at least it will seem fresh.
