Glad I thought to check on line even though it's not easy finding anytime when consoles or accessories are on sale. They're normally hard priced it seems.

Bought the camera a couple weeks ago and have 4 Move controllers and 4 Navigator controller from the PS3 bowling days exactly in a place I know in our storage unit.

Any of you guys fans of Monster Hunter. The concept always sounded awesome but I'd never played one before. Then I saw the trailer for Monster Hunter: World which comes out late January.



What are you guys' opinions on Monster Hunter? How about that awesome trailer?

The crafting system seems cool. It takes the place of a leveling system, it appears. That's interesting because your not locked into 1 or 2 playstyles dictated by a class. If you want to try a different fighting style then you just gather the items needed to craft a new weapon. I think there's somewhere around 14, maybe 16 types of weapons. There are a ton of videos showing 3 different fights right now. They look like what's going to be in the beta, which starts Dec 8th btw.

If any of you have a ps4 and plan on getting it let me know.

Monster Hunter is dope af. I'm personally a big fan of Switch Axe and Hunting Horn, there are indeed 14 different weapons (a few more if you include playing as a Nyanta as a different weapon)

also, I don't recall if World will have it but as of MHX they added 4 hunting styles which change the gameplay of each weapon. Guild, Striker, Aerial, and Bushido (which I think they call adept in the States) and MHXX added 2 more Alchemy and Brave

edit: after looking it up no MHW isn't gonna have hunting styles. It'll be a shame giving up my aerial SwAxe

In certain gameplay videos people have been mentioning "mantles." From what I saw at first, they were just armor types. Like there was a "Ghillie Mantle" that gives you camouflage against the monsters like a ghillie suit. But then, someone mentioned an Adept Mantle, and spoke in a way that would make you think it changed his hunting style.

In a couple of videos these mantles have been mentioned to be limited in the amount that you can take on a mission, so it does seem that there is more to the character customization than just crafting weapons and armor, but at this point I'm not entirely sure how Mantles are going to work.

Beta is out now. jumped right in without doing the tutorial because I had to go to work today and didn't have much time. Started with a big ol' crossbow that I decided I didn't like then swapped to a Wyvern Blade (a reaaaaaaly long long sword) and had a lot of fun killing a Great Jagras. Also found a Wyvern (i guess, could'a been a dragon). The mission is to hunt and kill a Great Jagras but I got distracted fighting the wyvern and some T-Rex thinggy with a giant bone face place. Looks like even though there's only 3 quests in 2 maps there's a bunch of other monsters you can go kill too, but you have to do it within the 20 minute quest window cuz there's no open world setting in the beta. Gonna do the intermediate quest when I get home from work, I think that's the T-Rex monster. The third, hard, quest takes you to another map. I'll probably hunt down and kill the wyvern before I move on. And do a little exploring to.

No crafting in the beta from what I can tell. You can just pick different armor, weapons and mantles before you ready up for the quest. I didn't do the tutorial so I had no idea how to use the mantles. I'll make sure to do that before I do another quest. You can collect the items for crafting, so maybe you can go back to the camps mid-quest and build something new but it appeared to me that the only thing you could do is have the lady cook you some food to get some bonus health and resistances.

And the Monster Hunter Beta is over. It was an exciting peak at what's in store for us come the end of January. I was eventually able to complete all three missions and take down the Greater Jagras, the Barroth of the Wildspire Wastes and finally the mighty Anjanath.

It was tough at first. I treated it like a fighting game thinking that mashing through the 3-5 button combos and adding a little block or dodge here would get me through. And it did, at first. My style of fighting worked against the Greater Jagras. It took me a couple of attempts to get comfortable with the controls and the maps and I was eventually able to find him quick enough and deal enough damage in a short enough time frame. Then I moved on to the harder Barroth. It just seemed that my 20-minute quest time kept ending as he was limping away to the final fighting location. No matter what weapon I tried combos I attempted I just couldn't pull it off. I was spending too much time healing. Too much time putting my weapon away, walking or rolling somewhere and drinking a potion and then pulling my weapon back out.

Then it dawned on me. This isn't a free-flowing fighting style game like Skyrim was. This is a turn-based game disguised as a live-action RPG. The monster must be given his turn and the player better respect that. There is no time for swinging an axe or sword during the monster's turn. You don't get to take a pot-shot with your Bow or gun during his turn. What you need to be doing is either dodging, blocking (if you have a shield) or re-positioning yourself to be in a good spot when his turn ends. This is the time when you drink your potion, if you are hurt (which I found happened less often after this revelation).

Only after you have allowed the monster to take his turn do you get to make your move. And if you have positioned yourself properly you can take greater advantage of this. Most turns you'll only have enough time to get in a poke or two. A basic combo at best. But, every once in a while, the monster stuns himself with a poorly aimed charge, or a well timed swipe at one of the blinding Flash Cages or Glowbugs floating around, or an assist from net throwing pygmies or a falling tree. When that happens you just go to town unleashing your best and longest combos on the poor, defenseless creature.

Once I had the above revelation in how to play the Barroth was a breeze. I was even able to take out the Apex-Predator Anjanath the first time I attempted the quest. Then I moved on to some of the harder monsters in Wildspire Wastes and was able to take down the snake-fish like Jyuratodus in my first attempt. I was feeling great at this point and decided to try the Diablos.

Well, Diablos kicked my ass. I tried every weapon I had gotten experiene with and every weapon I hadn't. I tried them all and I couldn't last more than 2 minutes against this thing. I tried dodging everything and only taking single swipes when I could. I tried blocking everything with a shield. I tried the guns, I tried the swords. Diablos is one tough SOB.

I never made it to attempt the Rathalos (giant Wyvern in the Jungle). Beta was only for 3 days and I had to work 10 hours a day on each of them so I was very restricted in how much I could play and I'm happy I was able to get the three missions +1 extra monster done in that time. I even got to do Barroth and Anjanath twice since I wanted to get the rewards for completing them in the beta once the game fully launches on both my and my girlfriends accounts.

So yeah Dominaria is a thing, more importantly I want to talk about that fin in the background. I hope to every god that the Weatherlight gets a print as a legendary vehicle.

Second hope for DOM? A story that doesn't include Jace.

I think it's current day. I haven't heard anything about going back in time, just to old places.

Oh good god. That means they're going to ruin it by giving him his spark back. But he'll be at current planeswalker power level instead of the OMFG REDICULOUSLY POWERFUL PLANESWALKER OF 'OL status. He'll probably be able to Phase things. Old Teferi power level would be able to steal turns if they had made Planeswalker cards back then. Instead he was just a "Creature" yet STILL ridiculously powerful.

A uniform? Not so much. A bright orange jump suit? More like it.

Unfortunately there are a LOT of us in orange jump suits. I'm the guy with "666" tattooed under his left eye. You won't see me involved in the riot. I don't show up till we are ready to start taking hostages.

I've never seen the show. Don't really watch any "normal" tv. Got Netflix, HBO Now.
I did however check a .torrent site and E9 is the latest up but the person upping them has done all of them so far so I will assume E10 will be up soon.

Where on the show timeline do you appear. There isn't much of an interval between riot and hostage taking and I can't make out any 666 tatoos on anyone's faces.
Looks like a pretty good show. Didn't watch all of it yet.

Yeah, I didn't realize how quickly they hash through the beginnings. They call it "background acting" for a reason. You don't really get to see my face. Here's a rundown of when you'll see me, with timestamps.

(:01) When Gunner Kade first walks into the room where he approaches Sister Carmalitta, I'm the last guy through the door. You can see the left side of my face and top of my head as I walk in, then walk to the far left of the screen real quickly.

(:02) When the two inmates drag the Warden into the room, I'm behind and to the right of the big guy with the palm tree tattooed on his face.

(:20) Deacon is using a spy camera. In the first shot, (you can't see me) I'm behind a stack of chairs which is behind a pillar that says C Block, right side of screen. In the second spy cam shot, you'll see me walk from that position to talk to the inmate standing over the two priests.

(:21) During the scene where Hondo and Deacon use the flashbang; towards the end of that scene there are four quickly cut takes. Three with Deacon standing over two inmates who are rolling over on their stomachs and one of him kicking a single inmate. In each of those three quick cuts containing 2 inmates, I'm the inmate to the right. In one of the quick cuts you can see the guy on the right has a full beard, that's me. (This is so much easier to catch if you have a DVR or TiVo and can slow the video.)

(:26) While Hondo and Deacon are interrogating the inmate JR you can see a pair of hands sticking out of the bars in the cell right before them, those are my hands.

(:31) Hondo takes a call about Deacon's wife. Those are my hands sticking through the jail cell bars behind him.


And that's all you get of me. That's actually a LOT for a background actor. All of the skinheads that got to hold guns were part of a Stunt Man company. They were all very cool guys but everyone involved knew they would be the ones getting more camera time, they were making more money than us.



It really isn't. The writing is REALLY bad. And who could look at that ghotee for more than 10 minutes without dying of laughter. It literally looks like hair follicles are just spewing from Shemar's nostrils. It's the ugliest facial hair ever. He needs a stylist. And the writing is **** horrible.
