Apparently SOMEONE hasn't read the "Tournament Update" thread.

OK, I've thrown some ideas at the test group (including some of yours), and I'm confident of announcing the following changes that will most likely be implemented in the next tournament:

1. No recording/streaming will be required. It will still highly encouraged, as if there is a dispute I'll need some way of adjudicating, but I'll deal with that as needed.

2. Sideboards will be allowed for part of the tournament. More to come on this later, but I've been looking into the best way to implement this and I'm going to do the exact opposite /sarc.

3. Deck building skill will be challenged in this next tournament. More to follow.

4. EDIT: Top 8 will be best of 5 games (this is a definite inclusion). Sorry, I forgot to add that here earlier.

Remember, this still might change, though I am 95% these changes will make it in (the sideboarding still requires some discussion and I'm still reaching out to some people for their perspectives).

but as always, i agree with everything you have to say. I actually hate ALL FOUR changes that Kryder is making. All of them are worse for me. But I'm not running the tournaments and Kryder absolutely knows what he's doing and, presumably, has the pulse of the players.

Just remember that I swallowed my pride and played. You should do the same. You barely have any pride to begin with anyway.

Damn Kryder. Next time make me a part of the test group then I'll be up to date

My 2 cents:

1. I've always liked the recording aspect regardless of how many problems it creates. It's what makes the tournaments fun and engaging.

2. Sideboards for PART of the tournament?!!? Interesting... I've always agreed with Barney in the sense that sideboards are for paper magic. This is Duels, a F2P online card game where yes, there is significant chance and luck involved. That's what makes Duels what it is, and I always have and will always disagree with changes to these duels tournaments that try to make Magic Duels closer and closer to paper magic (sideboards and restarting matches to ensure loser has draw/play to name a couple). If I wanted to play paper magic, I'd go to FNM.

3. Didn't know there was a problem with the deckbuilder...

4. I like that the top 8 will be a best of 5. Nice change.

I just watched through the finals and haven't gone through all the comments to see if anyone else pointed this out...

First of all I was surprised when I saw the deck that got into finals - the slow BW ****...imagine my surprise seeing it win. And the plays?! I always thought to myself that xBox magicduels players must be inferior at least a bit, but I said "it's mean to say that, you don't know".. just by watching these finals I know that almost for sure I'm right. There could be some crazy variance that led those two players with those two decks to finals, but not very likely. I know that some of you are great players and have some crazy story behind how you started magic duels on xbox instead of PC so this isn't meant for all. It's a big enough difference between levels of magicduels and paper magic players, but this is a whole nother level.

The mardu vehilces was pretty decent tho, at least the play..

* I'm gonna go check decklists later, cause I really want to see how this deck got to finals.
