Ye gods, Opp must've had a timely board wipe for those Crushers? Resolving one is usually enough to mow control down.

Mowie's deck goes 5-2, and it took some pretty ridiculously good draws to beat it those two times. I think the full recursion package is lovely, really dulls the pain of the Cathartic discard without having to worry about paying too many madness costs and make it kill all your momentum for the turn. I'm uncertain about the Cryptbreaker (would it be better as Bomat? Sinister Concoction? Insolent Neonate?) but everything else here fits together really well. I don't know if the Hubs are necessary either- I don't mind not being able to hypothetically cast Amalgam if it means just having more reliable red and black sources. Small quibbles though, and I love playing this deck enough to keep it in my library and spend some time messing with little variations like those. Well done Mowie!

Record: 5/7
Build: 5/5
Enjoyment: 5/5
Reunion: 2/3
Total: 17/20

1. Win vs Superfriends. AI pilot all the way through. They have an uncrewed Heart, and a Radiant Flames that sweeps a couple Adepts but leaves Copter. Then I get Chandra and use her RR to cast Brawler. They play Lily Majesty and knock Chandra to 1 with the Heart; my turn I play Key to the City, send an unblockable Copter through and finish off Lily with Chandra. They finish her off next turn as I have no blockers for their zombie token, and they kill the Brawler, but then they're stuck looking for a second red source while I Reunion/Copter my way into a Dead/Amalgam/Scrounger situation, so it barely matters when they Outburst. They eventually get their Chandra out but it's too late to matter, between the Key and the Axe in my hand that's been waiting for Heart to come back online.
2. ‎Win vs Orzhov Tokens? What a rude hand. On the play, Cryptbreaker to Brawler (pitches Amalgam) to Neheb to Chandra. A lone Anointer Priest keeps them alive all the way to turn 5.
3. ‎Lose vs Azorius Lifegain Aggro. Speaking of evil curve outs, they have the play and go Lone Rider, Harvester, Angelic Destiny. I Reunion away a Fiery Temper hoping to draw into a Lightning Axe. Would have been awesome if it worked! So I guess one weakness here is that all the removal is damage-based. My kingdom for a Sinister Concoction!
4. ‎Win vs Temur Energy. A race I can win. Adept and Brawler both draw removal, and I pick off a couple little guys in return. Get Scrounger and Dead going, and they waste time exerting their first Glorybringer on a Cryptbreaker, and their second on a tapped spirit token. Did they learn to exert from the AI? You don't HAVE to do it, you know. I win with a Fiery Temper to the face, so the decision I made earlier to pitch Archfiend instead of that proves correct, as I only see three land this game.
5. ‎Lose vs Gruul midrange. Chandra's Ignition on a Mouth token wipes my board, then they play Samut, then another Ignition on that clears my second Neheb that could've traded. I have no Dead to throw up instant defense. Rough.
6. ‎Win vs Selesnya Fog/Tokens? Ramp. One of the nice things about Reunion is it lets you keep a really questionable hand instead of going down to 6 cards. So mountain, hub, Reunion with 2 Dead looks just fine. Gets a little weird when that draws me into the other 2 hubs and no dedicated black source, but T3 Wanderer + Copter helps me dig. T4 return a Dead and Temper face, T5 Scrounger and Temper Face again while finally finding black, T6 Archfiend and get fogged, t7 get Chandra to finish the job. Opp doesn't do much; a From Beyond they sac inexplicably early while getting pounded and miles from Ulamog, and a Retreat from Emeria. Once Archfiend comes out to crew Copter those are both useless anyway of course.
7. ‎Win vs Azorius Spirits. I keep a risky draw of Cryptbreaker Copter 5 land, mostly cause I have my doubts about Cryptbreaker fitting this deck and I want to see how well it plays. The answer, provided you immediately draw the second of each and your opponent hangs on 3 land and can only play one little spirit and some white removal until it's way too late, is just fine. Though I fear the scientists may have trouble reproducing these conditions in a controlled laboratory environment.

Banedon Ramp:

Game 0 vs AI:
EZPZ

Game 1 vs R28 Orz Zombies on the draw:
I keep a risky 2 lander with Forest, Wilds, Advocate, Push, little Lili, Crusher, and our card du jour, Reunion. Opp comes out the gate swinging with Wanderer, Wayward, Diregraf Colossus. I crack Wilds for mountain and play Advocate but it gets exiled with Time to Reflect when it blocks Diregraf. Reunion draws me a forest, letting me play flip Nissa, but in Oketra’s name prevents her from trading with Diregraf whilr taking me to 5. I finally top a swamp and use it to push Wayward and play Pilgrimage to get my last forest. Pretty sure there are no answers at this point (no sweeps in hand, just Ulamog, Revenge, and both Lilis) but I play it out. Opp Gravediggers his Wayward back and then takes me to 1. I top a land and play Revenge and spite swing with it and let him kill me off next turn.

Game 1.5 vs R29 Bant Ctrl on the draw:
Ugh. Mull unplayable 2 lander into 1-lander into 1-lander into Forest x2, Revenge, Pilgrimage x2 which I figure is as good as I’m likely to get. My first top is an Advocate which cheers me up a bit but then my next 4 draws are all non land and non playable. Meanwhile opp has flip Nisa and OoN revealing Jace and hasn’t missed a land drop in his first 5 turns so I just take the easy way out and concede. Sometimes the shuffler is a bastard so I’m calling this 1.5.

Game 2 vs R29 Abzan Goodstuff on the play:
Another 2 lander but it has promise so I keep. The mana doesn’t give me issues this time. What does give me issues is the Thalia/Tracker/little Nissa 1-2-3 punch. Thalia affects most of my land and stalls any defensive creeps I might play by a turn. I drop Advocate and then sac it chumping Tracker so that I can Push Thalia, letting me drop a dual land untapped on T5 and play Ob Nix to kill his Tracker but he kills off Nix with a Deathcap and drops big Lili ressing his Thalia. I start flooding so I play Chandra, Torch and burn out Thalia and then Reunion my last 2 cards (land and ramp) hoping for answers. I get land and ramp. Opp drops yet another Thalia and cracks a few clues. I top little Lili and use it to kill Deathcap and eat an attack. Opp plays Bristling and resses Tracker. I top yet another land and play Renewal taking me to 15 life but between his zombie and plant tokens, Nissa counters, and the three big beaters, he has lethal easy. I swear I saw some sweepers in the list but damned if I’ve seen one yet.

Game 3 vs R28 Boros Vehicles on the draw:
I mull a hand with 5 lands, Crusher, and Chandra, Torch (but only one red mana) into a hand of 5 lands Revenge, and OoL. Blech. Of course my first 2 tops are also land. Opp plays Veteran Motorist t3 and I top Languish. Hmmm. I want to fish for CA so I decide to take a hit and hope he plays another non vehicle. He plays Fleetwheel snd takes me to 12. I OoL. He plays Hanweir Garrison and takes me to 7. I top big Nissa and play her, untapping a land to trade with Fleetwheel and making a zom token off of Oath. He plays Cast Out on Nissa. At this point I have Languish, Pilgrimage, Revenge, and a land or two with a zom token, Quagmire, and 5 other land in play and am stuck trying to figure out whether to use the languish or hold back to activate Quagmire. My life is too low to wait but while I’m figuring out what to do, my opp gets replaced by AI. I swing with the token first, (against human that would be a free 2 damage, most likely) and the AI activates Fleetwheel! Hahaha! I Languish and prepare for an epic comeback against the stupid AI. It drops my old friend from last game, Thalia. I top more land and play Revenge. Hopefully the AI won’t top his other Fleetwheel. It doesn’t! But it does top Glorybringer!! Well played, AI... well played.

Game 4 vs R20 Izznt Very Good on the play:
OMG! A nice, juicy 3 lander with just the right mix of control, ramp, and even a big, scary Ob Nixon! I play Quagmire, and then Wilds for swamp. Opp plays Brawler on t2 so I drop a Mountain and leave up mana for Disintegration. Opp plays Tutelage pre-combat and swings but gets pulled over for brawling without a license. I take a turn off to Pilgrimage. Opp plays Avaricious Dragon and tosses his hand. Who is this guy? I thought I was the only person crazy enough to voluntarily run that king of garbage! I drop Nixon and impeach the greedy orange reptile. No, don’t get your hopes up. I’m talking about the Dragon. Opp tops that stupid 1-drop arti that wants a bunch of pyramid counters to make mana and promptly plays it putting me on a clock. Fortunately I keep my head under pressure and calmly help him to mill me by drawing off of Ob Nix and Reunion. Big Nissa shows up and I have just enough mana to drop her so I do so and smack him with a land token. He draws Kari’s Expertise and smacks Nissa with the land. I top Big Lili and check my gy and lookie lookie! He milled a Crusher. I reanimate it and swing with a land again. He plays Injury from the yard and picks off Nissa. I top Ulamog and then Revenge off of On Nix. That works. Whew! I finally won one with this !

Game 5 vs R27 Sultai... Stuff on the play:
I get a nice curve and ramp into Crusher and big Nissa, pausing to play around a potential counter and pushing a Snek. Opp has Harvester and Glint-Sleeve and pushes an animated land but doesn’t really seem to understand the matgematics at play as he tries to race my Crusher/Nissa with his Harvester and doesn’t even bother lifelinking. Needless to say, it doesn’t end well for him.

Final verdict: 7/15
Effectiveness: 2/5
The mana was def an issue and it had some trouble lasting long enough to stabilize against aggressive builds but packed a mean punch if it did have time to flex.
Borkencard: 3/5
It makes good use of the card for sure but I’d want to see more GY useage to really feel like I was getting mad value out of Reunion.
Fun factor: 2/5
Big bombs are fun but ramp and midrange are not particularly novel or exciting. Needs moar jank!

DCG-MTG’s Shotgun Catharsis

AI Hard 1 - Loser? Wow, that was unexpected. I felt like this should have worked out better. A decent starting hand, except no black mana. After that good start, whoosh! Mana banana flood!

AI Hard 2 - Victory! T4 Haunted Dad, discarding a Fiery Temper and Alms of the Vein: not a had way to clue the opponent in on what to expect for the rest of the game.

AI Hard 3 - Victory! Fast and easy, just the way I like to play with my deck. No futzing around, trying to get things standing up. Just firing off as quick as I can, right in my opponent’s face.

Versus 1 - Loser! Just run of the mill bad luck. Didn’t go wide enough or fast enough against an orzhombies deck with Khalitas in the lead. Finishing rank 33.

Versus 2 - Victory! Boom! That’s how it’s done. Opponent quit about hLfway through a short match, having no answers. Worth pointing out that his early Declaration in Stone was the key to my victory as I did nothing with the clue it gave me, giving me the edge when I unleashed my Unlicensed Disintegration. Finishing rank 34.

Versus 3 - Victory! Thank Garfunkle for the Haunted Dad! She died twice, and on the last resurrection, she discarded a Scrapheap Scrounger, whoch pr ptly came right back, going wide and finishing off the Turkish Hammer77. Finishing rank 35.

Versus 4 - Victory! A good madness based win against an izzet artifactory that got shut down. Once again, Haunted Dad helps me go wide and win the day. Finishing rank 36.

Versus 5 - Victory! T5 win thanks to a Brawler, a Furryblade Vampire, and Hazoret the Pervert, with some help from a clue my opponent was kind enough to give me for my Disintegration. Finishing rank 37.

At 4-1, this deck is in a good position as the contest continues. Congratulations, DCG-MTG! You’ve built a better deck than Barney!

Great job everyone!! I have tested all the decks and I like Mowie's and... Flaky's the most.
I was going to try the ladder now, but the mother of Dragons had other plans so this will have to wait till tomorrow.

I should be getting some kudos for my impartiality as a judge that my deck seems to be the one I’m eliminating first

Ok let’s get back to round two testing...

Let’s start with Nomads Evolution... uh oh, scary avatar I’m up against...a rank 21. Omg what an amazing win. I keep a risky two lander of an evolving wild and an island with grapple and gather and a drake. The three of these things went beautifully together and I had a 8 Power drake in no time with fixed mana and I was dropping two mana serpents left and right. Amazing. 2-0

Flaky is next...up against a rank 40 mono black who resolves a Cruel Reality on me, leaving me scrambling. I was dominating this match too but just couldn’t get the win conditions going with me losing a creature of PW each turn while at five life. Got him down to 8 but I’m holding 3 UDs with no artifacts, ugh. 1-1 yay my deck didn’t fall in last place alone! BELETED.

Last deck is Cucho this round, let’s see if he can join the others in round three...what a fun win against rank 23 WGU auras. The deck came out great and he got rid of Tutelage right away but reunions dug for burn. 2-0

So two decks get eliminated in round two. Barney and Flaky both get awarded 0.5 points each.

Will move onto Round Three tomorrow.

Alright, time to give Nomad's deck a go.

AI 1: Omnath elementals make short work of Mono B zombies.

AI 2: Loss to Mono G stuff. Got stuck with a tapped land on T2, meaning no Grapple. Chose Rogue Refiner over Grapple on 3, not sure if that was correct. Ulamog stuck in hand with no way to discard, Summons in hand had nothing to bring back.

AI 3: Loss to WB Zombos. Got some things going, but two Nevers and two Finishes from Opp put a damper on my board. Ultimately, a zombie from Return got the last points in.

AI 4: Reanimated Omnath gets the win again. Hoping I can get some wins without leaning on Mr Jello.

Onto Versus in a minute.

V1: OTP vs R5. Win against RB low rank stuff. Opp never gets much going, I beat down with Drakes and Glory.

V2: Loss to R39 GR goodstuff. Stuck with Omnath in hand, no way to discard. Dryad would've helped keep the fort down if not for a Skysovereign on the other side.

V3: Win against WR go-wide. Mr Jello gets the assist with making tokens to block until Ulamog devours Opps library.

V4: Loss to R38 GR Aggro/Mid. An early TitI was helpful, but Opp Longtusk into Cartouche of Strength killed that plan. Couldn't catch up to the Longtusk - was DoB already, but topdecking the Ulamog that I was about to Eldritch Evolve into was insult to injury.

V5: Win against R40 4c (null-red) ramp/superfriends. Opp resolved Cruel Reality, but the real cruelty was the beatdown from two Drakes and a Serpent. RIP Dryads, your sacrifice stayed the CR onslaught.

V6: Easy win against GR nonsense.

V7: Quick loss to WR aggro. 21 lands bit me in a mull to 5, never got anything going.

Time to break while I get dinner ready. If I don't finish the remaining three Versus matches tonight, I'll get back to it tomorrow.

I go 6-1 with my Cathartic Evolution, cause it's a champion! Or because I've played it a ton and I know how to pilot this mess gracefully. Seriously, it's convoluted as hell and requires way too many decisions all the time, and in that way I think it nicely mirrors the Reunion. Do I throw away this great card and trust that something even better will appear? Will I be able to get it back later (the answer here is probably yes)? I love the feeling of playing a Reunion and leaping into the unknown, and I tried to chase that high here as much as possible, while still supporting it with a viable deck. I'm really happy with how it came out. I'll dock a point off my build score though; I totally acknowledge that the land is insane and there will come a time when it just kills you against something fast. Something like Mowie's will certainly be more consistent and efficient on the whole. But when this gets going it just sings in all its ridiculous glory. It's the Speed Racer to Mowie's Matrix.
Special thanks to Flaky for asking me to submit it (and for suggesting the Manticore that just SLAYS) cause I probably would have ended up with my Izzet Vamps otherwise, which while good wouldn't have provided me half the joy this just did. You're the best Flaky!

Record: 6/7
Build: 4/5
Enjoyment: 5/5
Reunion: 3/3
Total: 18/20

1. Win vs White Weenie. They get a scary start with Glory-Bound Initiate into Lone Rider, then Nimbus Wings on that. But as they say, the best defense is stealing your opponent's offense, so I Confiscate it. They put a Compulsory Rest on it, then play Gideon. I play Serpent and trade that with their token and Initiate, then I Summons a big Drake from my yard. They respond and then chump with Bygone Bishop, so I Summons that too, Gather a Sage and de-Rest my stolen Rider. Gideon goes down, my life goes up and I've got a formidable air force. They tutor yet another rest for the Rider. I'm wary of the Abbey they have lying there, so I keep swinging to make them chump and trade their wimps. Gather again; find Rhonas. At this point it doesn't matter if they Outburst cause I have two more drakes, Gearhulk and Omnath in hand with about 5 clues on the board. The fatal blow is delivered by a trampling 13/6 Drake.

2. ‎Win vs Selesnya Tokens. I thought this would be a loss. I glorybringer away a couple Bygone Bishops, but they go pretty wide and I'm slightly drunk on some really nice Reisling and punt on forgetting to crack the same Wilds two turns in a row. But they're afraid of my Dryad and hang back thinking they can go super wide with all their clues and tracker and Ulvenwald Mysteries. Finally remember to sac the Wilds, emerge a Scuttler out of the exerted Glorybringer, pull a Summons from the yard, Summons Omnath, drop and crack another Wilds, Evolve Scuttler into Combustible Gearhulk (they choose graveyard, 11 damage down to 3!), drop Rhonas and attack with an Omnath token. How do you like those tokens now?

3. ‎Lose vs Orzhov Enchantments. I get a nice big early Drake, but that gets a Trial of Ambition. I Sage that, but then they get blessed spirits, Sigil of the Empty Throne and a Cartouche. I cast and sac a Serpent to Manticore to take out the Spirit, but I don't have an answer to the Angel in time.

4. ‎Win vs Gruul Beats. My Titi is a bad match for their Voltaic Brawler, and then they drop a blood mist. Uh oh. I go down to 8 and get a Dryad just too late. Have to chump with it but at least they're out of trample. Reunion my way into Sage for the Mist, cast it then Reunion again to flip Titi and attack. They rebuild with things like Serpopard and Advocates, I rebuild with Serpent Evolved into Omnath with 3 tokens, another Serpent, Gearhulk, Drake. One attack from the Drake puts them into Manticore range, so I embalm that for the win.

5. ‎Win vs Mardu Vehicles. Cathartic my way into a 12/12 t5 Ulamog, but it's not an easy victory. They're going fast and curve Chandra into Skysovereign while chumping Ulamog. They swing with everything, thinking I can't do a full 20 in one turn with just the Ulamog on the board, but the Manticore I just drew says I can do 24. (back up plan was emerging Scuttler from mog and stealing the Skysovereign)

6. ‎Win vs Azorius Lifegain Aggro. So many Lone Riders today! They have Harvester, Kytheon and Always Watching to go with theirs and they get me to 5 pretty quickly. I steal the flipped Rider and they Dusk, but that kills Kytheon too and they can't crew Harvester for a minute. I steal the Rider from their graveyard and they Imprison it. Try a Drake, gets Stoned. Try another Drake and it sticks. I have Scuttler and Evolution in hand to get me to Ulamog (with an eye on that Coup for the Harvester), but I'm also casting churn with my spare mana and the Drake's getting big, so I just cast the other Drake in my hand and race. 9 from the first brings them back to 20. They Dawn back Kytheon so Harvester's on line, and I Grapple them up to 12/4s. Attack with both, trade with lifelinked Harvester and they're at 12. Guess what's in the yard! Manticore!

7. ‎Win vs Red Vehicle Aggro. All my early churn hits other churn- I have a Gather that gets me nothing but three Reunions in the yard. Piecing together land while they come at me with Lathnu Hellion. I Sage a Consulate Dreadnought cause I'm in trouble if that ever comes on line and I figure it'll be good for a chump against the Hellion. Instead it gets Harnessed and provides the Hellion another turn. Once the Hellion's finally spent they Fling it, I respond with a Pulse to give me a second mountain and it's my turn. Glorybringer, then Drake. They play and minus Chandra for the Drake cause it's a monster, I just Gather and play another. Finish Chandra with the dragon, finish the opponent the turn after that.

Ok time to hit the ladder!!
Flaky first vs R40 monoblack zombies
I like this mess, cathartic win, he is casting zombies like there is no tomorrow I sweep the board 2 times the. I cast dark intimations to zap his Lily. A 13/4 drake hits him in the air and then I call a kitten to hit him for another 13. Nice

Haven refurbished minimall next
Lost to bw good stuff with life gain, we could not race the life gain

Nomad next
Vs bw tokens r36
Ok we survived the first wave and then we ruled and you know who is a champ? Reclamation sage he zap their t3 always watching, then he zaps hiden stockpile and if that is was not enough he zaps a cast out that had our jelly man trapped!

Mowie's hellbent next!
Noooooo!!!!
T1 oath of Nissa fetch for Avacyn... that is not good, we drop crypt breaker he t2 a sylvan advocate... not good at all we follow with scrapy and Naheb but he resolves Kalitas... and we are at nightmare scenario, we try it but with Avacyn waiting in the corner we got ****...
we killed his ob and a Lily before the end but the game is completely out of reach
It was my favorite...

DCg next vs r40 mono red
Nail bitter match he started aggressive but after the first onslaught he runs out of gas two alms veins give us time to develop board presence and eventually we took the win by a hair!

Out impartial judge next!
Great win vs bwg pws
Gaea revenge is a boss!
Sweepers here sweepers there pws here pws there gaea revenge here no answer! Ha!

Cathartic mill last!
Cathartic mill indeed against a r40 80 card pile of pws and mythics

Five decks survived
.5 for Mowie's and Haven's decks
Mowie if its worth anything I really liked your deck.

R2 some other time.

Yay my deck survived Cuchos first round!

Ok here we go, Round 3 - five decks remain

Let’s start with Cuchos Mill...awesome win versus rank 39 Jund superfriends. He gets rid of Tutelage early and I had two Commits in the yard already, nuts. Had to go burn package with Visions, Chandra and Tempers. Lots of fun. 3-0

Nomad evolution next...win after keeping risky two lander. 3-0

Mowies reaper next...win versus rank 4. So many options! 3-0

DCGs Shotgun next...nice big win versus rank 4 Boros vehicles, yay. I lived the dream and recurred a Haunted Dead setting off two fiery tempers. 3-0

Havens Reunions will close out round three...win versus Orzhov Zombies 3-0

Round 4!

Haven first...rematch against same deck, rank 36 Orzhov Zombies. This time I just can’t keep up the pressure and he gets Bruma out which really hurts. I lose bad but it was stalled out at one point. 3-1 deck will get eliminated if any of the remaining decks win this round...

DCGs shotgun next...ouf really tough win against high rank mono blue who gets out two guardians and Heart of Kiran. Key to the City won me this game, no doubt. I need to draw two cards per turn more often. 4-0! Havens deck is eliminated. Will determine scoring after this round

Mowie up next...omg what an amazingly tough game against green landfall who successfully flipped Abbey and everything. Archfiend must have laid down a half dozen counters on each creature, it was great. Big alpha strike at the end. Reunion was huge here. 4-0

Ok I’ll take a break for a bit and then we’ll see how Nomad and Cucho do

All of these decks are a blast to play btw. Great job guys and good card choice Cucho. Hope you win again cuz if I win I’m going to pick a brutal enchantment

Allright! got some spare time now so lets hit the ladder
Barneys bananas first!
vs r31 GWB good stuff
You know who is a bitch ... yes that freaking Thalia the white supremacist... she **** up all my mana, but one sweeper at 2 life kept us alive. Then Ob followed by Chandra, then Big Lily, then Nissa renewal... that guy must have hatted this deck so much... win!

DCG next
What a game!
vs r37 boros auras
We throw everything at each other, early game I got 2 asylum visitors down and one bomat and he throws me twin bolts!!! kills my visitors and then inferno fist my bomat, we where in trouble but one Haunted dead and a T2 Key of Soup hearts kept us breathing. final turn hes got me at 1 and attacks with that guy that fetch an aura I cast haunted dead for the 3r time and crew a copter he cast titan strength on it but my copter draw me an alms veins which gets immediately cast! so close opponent! then we draw UD kill his last guy cast Scrappy from the GY... but you know what.... lets just cut the ribbons for the win! ha ha!
love it!

gotta take a break more games in the night.

Got a bit lazy at the end with the notes, I'll go back and update tomorrow with the video. 8-2 versus record in the end though! Reunion wasn't really a key role player, but I was surprised how swingy it was at times (particularly in V4). I'll likely use a scoring system similar to Nomad and rank from there. Good job Cucho!
The evidence (you might hear me attempt to address Twitch chat. I apparently scared the poor lad off): https://www.twitch.tv/videos/205720693

good record! next time you are broadcasting give us a heads up!

Ok back to round four testing

Cucho is next... up against a scary avatar...so look, this is the second time Mill has bugged in me . To the point that I don’t think it’s viable anymore. I’m up against Orzhov Zombies. I did a great board clear with Kizzy return and now have double Tutelage set up. I cast Committ from the yard which gets the opponent to ditch his entire library of only 20 cards left. When his turn starts he has 24 cards in his library and he swings for lethal. This is the second time this has happened to me so I’m counting it as a loss cuz Mill is too glitchy. Sorry Cucho 3-1. BELETED

Nomad will close out the round...win against something weird. 4-0!

Round five!

Nomad first...

well that sucks.. but its part of the game.
I´m also continuing my rounds on a real ladder xD
lets go with mill

How people doesn't go tired of Orzhov zombies I mean... try something else man, there are some janky cards out there! long story short: I burn every piece of crap they are sending, even cast a enigma drake that could have kill them in 2 swings but of course they got fleshbag just in time .... they were just to many of them and tutelage shined in absence... r40 ssssmagic maybe some of the iOs guys recognize him... anyway this is the end of the road for Mill.
- whats with the BELETED line is there a story behind it?-

who is still alive...
Flaky on to the spot!
vs 4 color PW
they we able to cast Arlin, Big Chandra, Nahiri ( two times) and Tezzeret... but we still got them with fevered visions fling and that cute kitty that likes to eat peoples hearts... so cute! beating PWs feels so good!

Nomad next!
win vs something... really dont know what it was... kinda of like nomad deck... cards where played and confiscation coup was the MVP on this game.

Ok cathartic reunion gets 6 points coz I´m such a good judge
Spoiler

ok 4 decks go to r3
DCG next!
Good game no reunions but haunted dead, my buddy Scrapy and UD did the job against boros good stuff that didn´t get of the grown!

Bananas next!
slow start on their side...
T2Advocate, T3 Nissa pilgrimage t4 Nissa vital force
they answer with big Chandra... but I drop Gaea revenge animate a 7/7 forest and he rages quit... this deck brings that in people.... good work Barney!

lets continue with Nomad...
Black drazi wipe the floor with us... Nomad gimme some spot removal please... everything in this deck is so intricate I hate it ... sorry buddy but this build I dont like one bit.... BELETED!

ok Flaky lets hit the road one more time!
Nice win vs simic midrange
Reunion refreshed my hand just in time to ultimate Chandra and with visions down it took me like 3 seconds to finish the game return triggered the last emblem trigger while it shrunk my 2 drakes to deliver lethal... I really like the things this deck can pull.

ok r4!
3 decks remain
Nomad gets 3 points

BELETED is from Homestar Runner, this character, Strongbad.

Ok I got bad with the updates just now. nomad, Mowie and DCG all won their round five, 5-0 each!

So Haven and Cucho tie for 4th so each of those decks get awarded 2.5 points each

Three decks remain!

Let’s go to round six!

Let’s start with Nomad...ugh up against rank 36 Orzhov Control. I had a super slow start. Two lands and four reuinion and two grapple, I had no idea what to do. I filled up my yard fast and started playing gods but he already had two planeswalkers out and I wS getting wrecked during my slow set up. 5-1. Not BELETED just yet, unless one of the other two win...

Let’s see if Mowie can do better...

Played 4 games with Nomad's evolve/reanimate/gy matters deck

G1 LOSS: opponent R37 GR midrange on the draw, very slow start, when Glorybringer came down I had no answer
G2 Win: opponent R37 UR control with a bad hand. He didn't do much, I reanimated an Omnath
G3 LOSS: opponent Atmadog R40 UW fliers with white monument and reflector mage. He dec in stoned my green god, and reflected TiTi twice. I got killed.
G4: Win: opponent R31 monoblack aggro. Put down enigma drakes as blockers to stop the rush. Reanimated Glorybringer and he conceded.

Notes:
The bad: difficult deck to play at first. Mana is pretty ugly, 4 colors and some double G and double R cards. Several subthemes. Slow starting deck with no removal.
The good: drakes get big very quickly. Lots of stuff to reanimate. Some very nice tricks with evolving and reanimating that end up with Ulamog in play.

Although I got killed by Atma, with one less reflector mage I could have won that match. I had a nice rec sage for that monument, an my long game beats the UW fliers.

Mowie wins versus mono white 6-0!

So Nomad is deleted

DCG next ...totally demolished high rank Orzhov Zombies yay. 6-0!

Round 7!

DCG first...omg huge win against high rank superfriends. What a grind. Yay haunted dead. 7-0!

I’ll take a quick break before trying Mowie.

Congrats to nomad for finishing 3rd for 4 points!

More to come

I know, it’s soooo much fun. I love both Mowie and DCGs decks tho. I honestly think the best two have gone the furthest

Ok here goes Mowie in round seven, up against mono red... long great game but Hazoret and haunted dead’s do some great work. Very close . 7-0!

Onto round 8!

R4
DCG big win vs Rakdos drazzi r40
the race was on very early I t2 copter and cast 2 brawlers but in the end it was alm veins again go allowed me to out race the other aggro. reunion refill mi hand and dump my beloved haunted dead in the GY so we could pull the madness shenanigans.

ok
Barney´s pijamas next
T4 gideon and we could not find our answers... this deck had some very well documented mana issues but overall it performed quite good, on a side note put the pile on the thread, this nonsense could have been prevented.

ok Flaky lets put your Junk jank on the ladder!
Against golgari counters... super grindy match... they got everything but constrictor down I bounce the board 2 times with titi and the second time it was while I casted chandra ignition.... booom! 14 damage then they cast everything down again and they got a full 8/8 gearhulk on def... we top deck baby Lily and dig the gy for a drake... they got nothing in the air so they attack with everything we block a few things and they concede before the 13/4 drake embarrassed them. Btw they had evolutionary leap the whole time so lots of card advantage! great win!

ok I´m tired Flaky and DCG are on the finals!
Barney gets 4 points
