The fact that no one hammered JaC either while people were in the dungeon or yesterday should have been a big red flag for me.

GG everyone.

I told town JaC was obv scum when that happened so town definitely deserved their lose. My plan was to end game with a trio of silly, rag and myself but that got boned. Also at the end I was just fear mongering and pushing lynches at those that could wrestle control of the Lynch from me. Super obvious basic strategy for survivor.

Jac was pretty obviously mafia. The only reason I didn't kill him is because I was also mafia, and he had all the useful abilities.

Also I didn't see JD as a threat and just let him cause trouble. I'm essentially unlynchable in the endgame, so JDs multiple votes weren't a problem. I just wanted Rubik dead because he was the only one who could nightkill me.

Zinger. What would have happened if the dungeon never ended? Would my theory have worked out?

I knew Jac was scummier than normal as of the previous day, but I always feel bad voting JAC because of the schedule. Personal bias I should put aside.

With KOD out of the picture and town, I knew Silly had to go. But I dieded.

@alt

it was toooooo late at that point. :(

After the dungeon ended, it was basically only Rubik that was a threat to me.

Also, apparently this is my 421st post in this game thread.

More than 1/5 of all posts in this thread have been me.

I could've used my ability to alter your vote threshold, or peoples votes against you.
It wouldn't have worked regardless, but still.

I don't know if scum deserved the win, but town definitely deserved the loss. There were so many misplays (from me as well as others ) that it is almost funny.

I think that most of the shortcomings of the town can be pinned on the game mechanics. No lynching without a majority is an anti-town mechanic that ranges from mildly annoying to severely screws over the town, with the degree of the penalty scaling with how sub-par the town ends up being. This is definitely one of the things that I realized early on, and a lot of my play this game took advantage of that fact heavily.

Like, seriously. Go back and count the number of times the town actually pulled off a successful lynch. The answer is two. And if JD wasn't willing to randomly throw votes around to get people killed as quickly as possible, that number would be zero instead. The only two lynches were 1) when everybody was in the dungeon and JD basically hammered somebody by himself, and 2) me, Rubik, and JD bandwagoning to get PK, who was confirmed special aligned, killed.

Every other day either ended in a no lynch, or with a single player randomly daykilling somebody. Neither of those two are good for the town, compared to plain old traditional lynching.

Its true, no lynching without a majority does favour the mafia slightly.

Especially in this game where lynches and mafia night kills were the only deaths that flipped alignments.

All that was intentional design though.

@Alt: if you were still in the Dungeon and the main game ended, you would have remained neither living nor dead for eternity and probably still lost.

Since he was not used, I'm keeping that in my back pocket for a future Mafia game.

Well, we don't know if we could have reached a majority vote on either D1 or D2, and that is the problem. I am still having trouble getting over my death.

@zinger: could we have lynched PK d2?

Most definitely. PK was never that hard to lynch.

Silly was harder to lynch than PK.

Tbh when pk repeatly failed to get lynched / killed I was starting to fear that he switched the alignment of a good chunk of the players already.
