Love opponent's deck, although I would probably try to squeeze a single diabolic tutor in somewhere because there are so many cards at 1x or 2x.

All these deckbuilding posts are old enough it seems I missed out on the "primetime." and the scuttlebutt is that Wizards is making a new game. Too bad because this type of true draw-go deck is what I always wanted to play. My Esper deck felt like superfriends at times because you were forced to run multiple threats that were vulnerable to interaction... fewer threats with less interaction potential sounds pretty awesome to me.

I kid, but really your mom and her dick are very special to me. What we share is beautiful and I wouldn't want her dick to ever be anything less than the proud, gleaming spire of womanhood that it is.

After Abzan Trials deck, I thought about which other colors can be good to build a deck with Trials as a main theme. I built an Esper Trials and currently is among my favourite decks and is giving me excellent results. Is also very funny to play with:

Esper Trials

Creatures:

2 Sram, Senior Edificer
3 Blessed Spirits
4 Heliod's Pilgrim

Enchantments:

2 Imprisoned in the Moon
3 Cast Out
1 Cruel Reality
1 Angelic Destiny
2 Sigil of the Empty Throne
3 Trial of Ambition
2 Trial of Knowledge
4 Cartouche of Solidarity
4 Cartouche of Knowledge
4 Cartouche of Ambition

Planeswalkers:

1 Ob Nixilis Reignited

Lands:

4 Plains
2 Island
2 Swamp
2 Shambling Vent
2 Sunken Hollow
2 Prairie Stream
2 Drowned Catacomb
2 Glacial Fortress
2 Isolated Chapel
4 Evolving Wilds

The idea of the deck is to take advantage of trials and cast cartouches to use recursion, making the opponent to sacrifice lots of creatures and planeswalkers with Trial of Ambition and Cruel Reality, get Sigil of the Empty Throne to put several 4/4 angel tokens casting lots of enchantments. This deck can deal with other enchantments, artifacts and planeswalkers easily with Imprisoned in the Moon and Cast Out. The deck is fast, agile and can search for answers easily thanks to Heliod's Pilgrim, a creature that allows to search for auras (I specially like the combo Heliod's Pilgrim + Cruel Reality, no need for a Diabolic Tutor here). The deck can draw an insane amount of cards thanks to Sram, Senior Edificer, Cartouche of Knowledge, Trial of Knowledge and Ob Nixilis Reignited (best use of Trial of Knowledge I can think at the moment). I like this Esper trials over Abzan Trials because my style is having answers, kill opponent creatures and still having card advantage. As I said, one of my favourite decks that I built, competitive, efficient and fun that uses "unusual" cards such as Trial of Knowledge and Cruel Reality.

Interesting. On paper it looks like you’re not running enough creatures to reliably cast the cartouches (main benefits from green are the tokens from its trial and tokens baby Nissa can produce to help you get bodies for the auras - and of course the 2/2 Druid who makes enchantments cost 1 less). Additionally, 5 trials seems low. You have 12 cartouches so plenty of ways to bounce trials, but how often do you struggle to find trials in games?

I was thinking about replacing Ob Nixilis Reignited with Gideon, Ally of Zendikar to ensure more creatures with 2/2 tokens. As for trials, I am not strongly convinced with Trial of Solidarity because these kind of decks are not heavily aggro, but I can add another Trial of Knowledge and cut a cartouche. Sometimes I struggle to find trials but unfortunately Heliod's Pilgrim can't search for them.

That seems like a smart change. Trials decks just lose if you can’t find creatures to cast auras on - repetitious token generators like big Gideon or baby Nissa are very helpful. I run both in a 4c cartouche deck I have.

Incidentally, I ran your simic turbo fog deck with the changes I suggested and still struggled to get better than 50% win rate. Keep having problem of running out of fogs before I can get the big mill play (that’s with 8 fog spells, 2 creatures that can recur them from graveyard, and 3 bounce spells that can recur those creatures that recur fogs). Not sure if just variance (limited sample size) or I’m not playing it correctly - since it sounds like you do well with it. I’m not stupid about when to cast fogs, but maybe I don’t mulligan right?

I find Fogs by drawing so I still have Pore Over the Pages, I think is a good card because you draw 3 cards and untap 2 lands, mana is not a problem since this is a ramp deck also. I don't run Ulamog, but I run Greenwarden of Murasa and Torrential Gearhulk so I can recover cards from graveyard. I sometimes win without Pull from Tomorrow, just with other drawing spells or Sphinx's Tutelage ability. If needed, I use Pull from Tomorrow just to find answers so I can recover it from graveyard thanks to Greenwarden of Murasa and I also use disperse to play recovering cards from graveyard with Greenwarden of Murasa. It is true that I sometimes lose against very fast decks and when my hand is bad, but is giving me good moments, for example, some days ago I won against BG Elves, an aggresive deck in a similar way that the guy in the video but I could win easier because the opponent didn't have 2 Shaman of the Pack. I also won against a mono white with servo tokens, thanks to Retreat to Kazandu and Displacement Wave. I think that the deck is feasible only by drawing, as other combo decks in the past.
