All in all, I’m still a lot newer to this forum than most of you decrepit old fossils, so I have that to keep me going while I await Death’s icy scythe.

It’s a defense mechanism built to keep from showing affection for fear it is not returned. You can’t handle rejection so you play it cool. This, in turn, leads to being rejected for appearing cold and uncaring, thus confirming your fear.

You jerk.

That was too deep for this thread. Hell, that was too deep for this forum.

I’m so deep, you don’t even know. I’m so deep, when I gaze upon myself, I also gaze back.

Hey, my wife got me tickets to see Cmdr. Chris Hadfield for my birthday. Last year, she did the same, and I saw Chris Hadfield at a small hangar outside of town. About 100 people in attendance for music and conversation. This year, I think it's going to be at a normal auditorium, probably a few hundred to a thousand in the audience. It's nice to hear the guy speak.

Last time, I actually got to ask him a direct question (about the race for Mars) and he gave a reasoned, in depth response. I very much enjoyed the experience.

Has Barn ever necro'ed a thread for my birthday?
Was I just gone so long I missed it?
Do I even have my birthday listed in my profile?
These are the questions inquiring minds want to know.

Kudos on seeing Cmdr. Hadfield Soup. It took me a minute. At first I thought it was an honorific like Col. Bruce Hampton.
I myself am going to see James McMurtry at Delmar Hall tonight!
I'm so excited.
My band has played there twice since they opened last year. This will be my first time using the front door.
Wondering if any of the management will let me backstage to smoke a big fat nug with James?
That, and not the above questions, is the one that matters.

I got to have a really nice one on one with Marc Garneau. Super nice, warm guy. I’d vote for him if he was in my riding

Look at Soup and I meeting Canadian Astronauts! Fun stuff

Oh, didn't you know that every Canadian knows an astronaut? Most of us have even been up to the CSS (Canadian Space Station). It's cold and cramped and they have a Tim Hortons on board.

ETA: I also met Dr. Roberta Bondar once. I delivered room service to her. If you know what I mean. Mm-mm roast beef sandwich. With a glass of water, oh yeah.

I once met Laika, she had some interesting theories about the origins of the universe, deep stuff... Also had a wet nose.

I wonder what kind of chemicals they're been dumping into the canadian water reservoirs?
If you know, please send me a sample.

That is awesome. Ask him about the zombies if you get a chance. And don't forget to ask him how much he lifts. In the beginning he looked like a normal guy who probably hit the gym every once in a while. Lately he looks like he spends upwards of 6 hours a day in the gym. Why did he feel the need to bulk up that much to protect the world from B.O.W.s?

Are you talking about moon zombies or Mars zombies, because those are two totally different issues? I wan to be clear when I ask him in front of the public at large.

Oh well. I guess this another one where Barney gets to make fun of me. I was trying to make a joke as if I thought Chris Hadfield was the character from Resident Evil.

I played her because she has a larger backpack. Typical. Barney is concerned with what's in front while I'm concerned with what's behind.

You guys play bloodborne, right? Have you guys heard of this Flaming Giant Zombie (or something) Boss fight that has just been discovered? Apparently there's this Boss Fight that hadn't been discovered in the 3 years since the game's release. Here's the article:

http://www.denofgeek.com/us/games/blood ... es-release

Happy hunting
