Simply put, once a day I am going to post a video from youtube related to a video game I like. I will do my best for it to be one you have never heard of.

I encourage you guys to do the same and discuss everyone's videos in a positive manner.

Today's game is DeathSmiles on the Xbox 360. It's part of a genre known as bullet hell, and during some boss battles 80+ percent of the screen can be covered. You have a life bar, and you take damage when your character's core (the little heart) is hit. The video is someone else's run through the hardest difficulty on a 1cc.

Deathsmiles

Also, only post video game videos.

Touhou is also a bullet hell series, so yes they are similar. However, the amount of precision and memorization that went into that gameplay posted......... the dude broke 7 billion points. My best only broke 1 billion, and that was after dozens of hours of practice. And I'm considered insane. Most people have serious trouble with breaking 300 million for the achievement. It's a very skill intensive game that takes a lot, and I mean a lot, of practice.

Ah yes, Deathsmiles. Wanted to try it once, but always forgot about it. Perhaps I should connect the 360 once again.

Here's my last shmup related thing I cleared:

Still working on the Lunatic clear. I can get to stage 5 reliably, but lost too many lives along the way.

^^ It's worth it. In fact both the first and second are worth it, although the second was a little easier.

In the current vein of this thread, here is Ikaruga. The dude only went through on Normal, but it's also the only playthrough in 1 video I could find. Just skip like a minute into it for the gameplay to begin.

The interesting part behind this game was that you could switch your ships color and absorb bullets (assuming you were the right color).

@sapper, you should post some then. I'm going to post shooters, rps, and fighting games later, but this thread is open for everyone to post in.

For future notice, please only post gameplay videos.

Bioshock Infinite is awesome, just wish it had more of a feel of the first ones. The combat is more of a watered down shooter with meatshield AI thats never really a challenge. I much prefered slowly creeping through Rapture and seeing splicer shadows dart along the walls. But regardless, everyone should play all the bioshocks at least once.

After all, a man chooses...

@BH - You know the whole singing thing originated in Saints Row II anyways, right? I should go find those videos too, but I just got home and the wife is sick.

If you want people to only post gameplay videos, you should edit the thread title and OP so that people know thats what to do in this thread. From the title it seems like it could just be discussion in general. Just a friendly heads up.

I assumed, I just havent got around to playing II yet, and much prefer the song from III anyway (plus as you can see I've been playing it a lot over the weekend).

I am still playing through it, usually in chunks separated by months. I did get to the point where the game becomes more about alternate timelines and stuff than American exceptionalism, which idk, I enjoy the series for their exploration of themes and utopias dashed by human frailty. I am not as much into multiple dimensions.

I am not much of an FPS player though, so Infinite is enough challenge for me.
