I find it hard to make statements like this, because a lot depends on the particular incarnation. You can do a lot of interesting things with Elves as a fantasy race. Going over the fantasy properties I've been experiencing lately, you can definitely do them right.

Same with Gnomes, now that Barinellos brought them up. They're generally pretty bland and/or annoying, but The Conqueror's Shadow has this uncanny race of Gnomes that I felt was done really well.

did you know that they are the most popular race in WoW

why would you play as a human in a high fantasy setting

For the longest time, Humans had the single best racial ability for PvP, which definitely skews the numbers here. They also had the best racial for healers (and back then, some other magic users), so if you played a Priest or Paladin before the Cataclysm expansion, you picked human for PvE as well. Most of the armor is also designed to look best on humans and humans play a central role in the story. The Alliance capital remains the busiest city in the game and the current major hub is also staffed almost entirely by humans.

The current racial traits of humans were nerfed significantly (or rather, brought back in line with other racial traits), but are still quite good, for PvE, PvP and collecting the various mounts, pets, and other vanity items. They can also become pretty much every class (with the exception of Demon Hunter, Druid, and Shaman) and probably have the most customization options.

Apart from that, I guess there's also the fantasy of being an "ordinary" human that keeps up with the more fantastical races.

Deny. They might be the lamest common fantasy race but they offer loads of opportunity compared to many if not most of the "Special Snowflake" options. At least elves, in any of their known forms, are at least a little resonant.

I generally didn't care for elveses until I saw Prince Nuada in hellboy 2. I also enjoyed the Tiste Liosan - a race of elflike albinos who, seeking their missing god, began crucifying pureblood dragons and drinking their blood in order to attain godhood and fill the void left by their god, Father Light. They were metal.

Does Freeza count as an elf analogue? I enjoyed watching him fight on the last episode of DB Super.

I feel like if anything is an elf on dragon ball, it would be the Kais.

Hell yeah, Prince Nuada was awesome and fascinated me a lot at the time. You can really see the guy's point in a way. Did you know the subtitled language the elves speak is actually Irish Gaelic? I started loving that film even more once I realised that.

Too bad we'll never see Hellboy 3. Hollywood sucks sometimes.

Just want to say how odd it is to see 1 dollar cheap pack of cards at a dollar tree, but finally get a couple. In one of the two packs (6 cards each one guarenteed rare) find a Rushwood Legate! Odd find considering it keeping company with Theros and the New Zendikar cards among others.

Deny. All of them are pretty lame in their own respect. Differences in disease resistance and biochemistry would make fantasy races more interesting but oftentimes a lot of fantasy races are pretty stereotypical. Elves strangely have a lot of variation sociologically and thus I won't give "worst fantasy piece ever" to their lot.

If I were to give the title of "lamest fantasy race", it would have to be Faeries. Fairies. Whatever.

bees are better

Apologies to anyone that feels offended/fat shamed about what I said. I'm 200 pounds and every day I feel like ending my life.

1. Fairies have magic
2. Nobody thought bees should be able to fly either

I hope you can find a way to get that fixed up. No pressure though.

I like the faeries in the Daoine Sidhe from the Hellboy comics. The Corpse was the story, I think.

Did ya'll hear about the massive Mercadian Masques pirate buyout? Some Legacy big leagues hyped up a 'Pirate Stompy' list. The list went up. It had Ramirez DePietro in it. It turned out to be Fake News - pirate stompy was never a real deck. Pissening.

Everyone knows that dragons, faeries, werewolves, and angels are the OG stompies.

This time traveler is finally getting up to date... Playing Overwatch. Fun game, have fun with its face paced action, power based antics. And I actually enjoy playing the healer either as Mercy or Lucio. Saving my expirementing with other classes in pre-match skirmishes, but I think I'll stick with those two... Got going on a twenty kill streak with Lucio! ...Though part of that might have just been how effective our team was...

As far as phone technology goes though, I'm still on my old i4.

You're still ahead of me, I'm on a Windows phone.
My train app stopped working because my platform wasn't worth supporting any longer.

Pretty much my story except with the YouTube site... Won't go past ads no matter how many times I watch them in a row now!
