I am UselessCommon, a relative newcomer to this forum, and I'm interested in MTG Arena. I like building decks, especially unorthodox decks, and I hope to see you all, soon or otherwise, in this upcoming game ! Hi, DJ over here.

I had to be dragged kicking and screaming over here from the mothership, but I settled in eventually. I like deckbuilding (I tend toward Aggro-control style builds), but I have no idea whether I'll be able to build comparably well now that we're talking Standard and sideboards - so my old relevance might be irrelevant now. We'll see. I'm also not at all sure I'll be playing mtg:Arena, so I might drop off sometime soon.

I'll feel myself wherever I please and no amount of cops are going to stop me.

It's been almost forty years since my university days, so my memories of that time are a bit rusty ...

I've been playing Magic for about twenty years now, and online exclusively for almost ten years. One of my biggest regrets is missing out on the original beta for MODO (I tried to apply a few days after the applications were closed), so I'd like to get in on this one. The next biggest on the list is the advent of social media, and the death of forums.

For what it's worth, if I ever get shot and murdered, you guys don't need to take an appropriate amount of time to start thinking about you could have done to prevent it.

Anecdote: I was out last night at a bar, visiting with an old friend that moved to Germany a few years ago. We were out late, because generally I go out of my way to see him when he's here once a year. There was nothing on any of the TVs about what was happening in Las Vegas. It is totally surreal to me, because I didn't find out about this until this morning when I turned on the news.

@DJ: Something that still perplexes me about the yanks is the "me and my handgun have got this" mentality. I honestly wonder if they'd piss on an electric fence and swear blind to you they wouldn't get shocked.

@Barney: You can hear in the video the magazine of the first weapon exceeds 30 rounds. Doubt it would be just 1 SMG, several loaded weapons were found. I'd guess he just dropped them when empty and switched weapon instead of reloading. Turned out to be some retired accountant with a history of diagnosed psychopathy.

If it's fully automatic, then the weapons were obtained illegally right? So the gun control issue will get stamped out and the stupid mental illness excuse will be the spotlight?
