I've been thinking about hosting a different sort of contest, but it would be geared more toward the Johnnies than the Spikes. I remember having a lot of fun doing "break the card" contests on MtGO way back before WotC stopped caring about casual. I was considering doing something along those lines, but with the rarity restrictions in Duels, I think I'd need to tweak the format a bit. Maybe have 2 cards each round and players could choose to break one or, if they are really inspired/ambitious, both. So instead of building competitive decks around themes or mechanics, we'd be building playable decks around "difficult" cards. Still a creative challenge, but maybe not everyone's cuppa joe.

If ppl are interested, I'll start one up tonight or tomorrow.

Heck yeah! I was thinking about doing the same thing - I love building around interesting cards.

All right Barney here is my attempt, I kept a high number of creatures to keep the pressure up and have some bodies to put the -1 counters, also I add a couple of bad boys that profit when things die and I add a whole bunch of removal.

The archetype as I said is not competitive enough but I don´t find another way to stay aggressive use the damn counters and try to win at the same time.

That deck had so many iterations that TBH I think that it was there for the Gearhulk, -which I cut coz... I dont know at this point- I think that it can work better with one copy of West vale Abbey -with that absurd number of creatures it can´t be that hard to flip it.

Well it won it's practice game against the AI. It's ready for the ladder but I'm going to wait for a creature, counters or Golgari quest to bring it out

It went 1-2. Losing to mono white tokens and Abzan enchantments. I was very happy to delete it
