If you know where the Magic the Gathering Arena forum is located, please link it. I wanted to comment about the new game, but this is the Magic Duels forum not the forums for Magic the Gathering Arena. Please HELP! Lets get a new forum going before someone else does.

Communities are not made by the starting date's thread.
Numbers and an active community make them.

We can only ask the GobOs either to change this subforum's denomination, or make an entirely new one.

Or you just create a thread like Gwent did.

The project overall, as you stated yourself, is big enough.
Even considering the beta alone, there'll be plenty of questions both on brews, bugs and entry. One thread alone gets clunky that way.

Though if its gonna be sticking to standard and has all the cards then more than ever people can look up actual MtG decks rather than Arena specific decks.

I agree that people can look up the same decks and discuss deckbuilding in the same forums and places that paper magic uses. On the other hand, when I want to talk about some Magic Arena specific topic I wish there was a forum here for that. For example, a topic like "why are there a bunch of flowers on my playfield in magic arena?" isn't going to go over very well in a paper magic forum.

By the way that background in the demo game was called "Sun Empire Dragon Hatchery". Why not some Dragon eggs and other Dragon related items? Why a "Plane of Flowers"?
I hope we get some better playfields in the final game. I want a graveyard theme for a Liliana background. I want a volcano theme for Chandra. A treehouse for Nissa in the forest.
I want an Armory style room for Gideon. I want a Yoga room for Jace to practice his "downward facing dog".

I mean, if MTGO has its own subforum, I can't see why Arena shouldn't get one too. The only argument I can see against it is that it's not out yet, but that shouldn't be true for long, with the open beta and all that.

A separate subforum is needed for a clean break from Duels. Time to get over the stink left over from Duels.

Yeah we probably do need a new subforum actually if only to discuss many parts of the game other than decks and such.

I kinda thought it'd follow the same route that happened when we transitioned from 2015 > Duels, where the subforum just becomes an Arena place with the "2015 decklists" being changed to "Duels decklists"

Hey folks! I'm discussing wether we transition or create a new sub with the mod leads - or at least I will be soon. I'll let you all know what we decide. In the mean time, let me know if you have any ideas, and I'll pass them up the chain. We are probably still a few months away from a true launch, so we have some time to adapt to your needs/wants.

For the time being, I'd think that making a forum subsection here could be enough.
Just to talk about bugs, decks, announcements.
Expecially if they don't end up lifting the NDA.

I wouldn't like spreading the Duels subforum etiher way, just because this is a nice package tight with feels across the years.
Transitioning Duels into Arena, cleaning up the place by moving 2015 and Duels stuff into subsections, would be perfect in due time.

I like the idea of a new subforum for Arena better. Start with a clean slate, with fewer inbred discussions, specially if they are trying to get new players to the game, instead of the old Duels fan base.

On a more serious note, I've been asked to gauge interest on a new forum vs. keeping this one, but renaming it (either way this forum would still exist and house the old deck lists, etc.). We would certainly like to continue to be one of the main homes of the Duels crowd as it becomes the Arena crowd. So let me know your thoughts. I might put a poll up in a day or so.

In my opinion Arena isn't duels and is trying to lift away from it, hence not being named duels and no stainless, so it makes sense it needs its own forum like MTGO even if decks can copy paper (which MTGO can also do).
It needs a fresh start with fresh discussion without the direct association with duels and the idea that it is just a new duels which it seems pretty clear its not even with what we know already.

Dunno if we need the subforum right away though since it might be barren until the game is out or more news and info keeps rolling in.

Hey everyone, so there's been some talk and it looks like we'll be starting a new sub for Arena. I'll let you all know when that's going to happen once I've been told. In the meantime, any threads that are still active in Duels - but about Arena - can continue here, as we'll move them whenever the time comes.
