Hey folks,

Yesterday MaRo posted up the in-jokes for the cards in Unhinged. http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/ar ... 2017-08-14

I arrived late to the party in that game, but between the references to it over so many years, I saw every card they showed in this article. And I know he said a lot of people didn't "get it" for many of them. Which did you get? Which caught you by surprise?

Myself, I got a lot of them, but didn't get these:

#4 - Remember Ice Age?
Yeah, I got Necro-Impotence as a call-back to Necropotence, but didn't get Aesthetic Consultation as a call-back to Demonic Consultation.

#6 - Cards in Cards.
Maybe saw a few, but it never really clicked that this was a joke besides the fact that these cards messed with other cards.

#7 - Ambiguity.
Did you realize there was a second image when you flipped it upside down? I sure didn't!

#15 - Did You Catch the Time Traveller?
Call back to old mechanics? Time machine in Old Fogey? Oh yeah, definitely got those. Seeing a smudge on the card Blast from the Past? Nope. Not even once.

#17 - The First Rule of Unhinged
No way did I realize this was a dual Fight Club and Alcoholics Anonymous reference.

#20 - There Once Was a Cycle from Unglued . . .
Hey, these form a limerick! That's neat.

#21 - Polly Want to Crack Her
See, I take it you had to play the set to get this one, and I never did. That's a great interaction that this forces you to sacrifice the creature if your opponent has Gotch'a cards.


Of them all, I'm really surprised that people didn't understand the joke in Duh!

I probably got them all but I am not sure how many I was exposed to before seeing the explanations done years ago.
