In limited these cards eliminate a percentage of creatures appropriate for thier Mana cost.

Well then why print those cards and not give players a way to make them somewhat useful in constructed?

Also mill is pretty bad too. It's weaker than other archetypes, especially burn, because of the philosophy of fire. A burn deck can win with seven cards to the face and kill off creatures. A typical mill card with the same power level not only can't kill creatures, but it also needs more than seven cards of twice or higher mana cost, and needs separate cards to deal with creatures, and has to deal with an entire deck type that destroys its strategy.

Fortunately there's Fraying Sanity, but it's not even used in competitive play.

Leave No Memory
Sorcery
Each player puts the top ten cards of his or her library into his or her graveyard. Draw a card.

Drown
Sorcery
Put the top 15 cards of target opponent's library into his or her graveyard.
That player may cast a copy of ~.
If they do, they choose new targets for the copy.

Because 80% of cards aren't good in constructed, and that will always be the case. No one is asking for them to make Wild Griffin good in constructed, same goes for Open Fire.

As for mill, seven Mind Sculpt will kill you just as dead as seven Lightning Strike. Mill is tricky because people mill themselves for 1 every turn, limited decks have only 40 cards, and it doesn't interact much with other parts of the game.

You can sort of fix the limited issue by making the biggest mill cards rare. Also, you have to be careful with ones that mill yourself because you can use that to your advantage with graveyard strategies (whereas the opponent is not necessarily going to be prepared to be milled). You can take advantage of the natural per turn mill by making defensive cards that want to drag the game out like Vedalken Entrancer.

My complaint is that cards that need not exist shouldn't overlap with apparently don't exist.

That cycle of worse shrine is just ....

I don't think you get the point of this thread. This thread is about "here is this obvious effect or combination of effects that Wizards for some reason didn't print yet." Mind control as an ETB effect. Monogreen straightforward creature tutor. One-sided straightforward Howling Mine. Cantrip wrath. Rise from the Grave for enchantments. And so on.

Just pretend all cards here cost one phyrexian mana or something if it bothers you so much.

Marble Skin :1::w:
Enchantment — Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature has indestructible.

Roving Rotter :b::b:

When Roving Rotter dies, create a 1/1 black Skeleton creature token.
"One of the many things I love about zombies is, it's not like they even need flesh."

Obviously we've had creatures drop tokens before but never a Zombie dropping a Skeleton, which feels like an oversight to me.

I don't think you get the point of my complaint. The point of this thread was never listed. It started with a card that I deem worth printing but didn't print yet. How is it that I am the one not getting point? How is my interpretation of apparently don't exist, while implying that they should have, any less valid than "literally any card that didn't exist"? In fact, I think my interpretation is closer to the original intention than otherwise, or the thread would have just been named "ITT:Cards that [removed] don't exist".

Besides, i'm free to comment on cards or make complaints. If it makes you happier, I will start making comment using your recommendation, complaining each design's brokenness as if it was printed with 1 phyrexian mana. Deal?

I'm sorry for derailing the thread, if that counts.

Ironically, that guy would be amazing at . The card would be okay in a vacuum but not in the context of already ridiculous affinity shell.

On second thought probably more suitable with green at

Okay, since the main premise of the thread is/was being argued, I guess it's time to post (spam) cards that "kind of" fill the criteria, but not really IMO.

Quote:
Spin a Tale
Sorcery (C)
At the beginning of the next end step, draw three cards, then discard a card.
Vairë the Weaver is his spouse, who weaves all things that have ever been in Time into her storied webs, and the halls of Mandos that ever widen as the ages pass are clothed with them.
The discard part invalidates this, but still, a variation of it that was just straight-up draw I would have expected to come up at one point or another.

Quote:
Dismal Devices
Instant (C)
Draw two cards. Each player loses 2 life.
From Melkor the Elves learnt many things it were not good for any but the great Valar to know, for being half-comprehended such deep and hidden things slay happiness.
There's some color pie argument to be had with this card since it's an instant and not strictly "draw, then you lose".

Quote:
Feed the Emptiness
Sorcery (C)
Each player loses 5 life. This can’t reduce your life total to less than 1.
"What wouldst thou have more? Dost thou desire all the world for thy belly?"
—Morgoth Bauglir

Quote:
Taint
Enchantment – Aura (C)
Enchant permanent
Whenever enchanted permanent becomes tapped, its controller loses 2 life.
The evil of Melkor and the blight of his hatred flowed out thence, and the Spring of Arda was marred. Green things fell sick and rotted, and rivers were choked with slime.
Note: Original design by SecretInfiltrator.

Quote:
Aulë's Craft
Enchantment (C)
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may discard a card. If you do, draw a card.
For in the making of all things in that land he had the chief part, and he wrought there many beautiful and shapely works both openly and in secret.

Quote:
Celestial Horizon
Sorcery (C)
Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a basic land card. Put it onto the battlefield tapped, then put all other cards revealed this way on the bottom of your library in a random order.
Though nowhere and in no work was their will and purpose wholly fulfilled, slowly nonetheless the Earth was fashioned and made firm.

Quote:
Giver of Fruits
Creature – Elf (C)
When ~ enters the battlefield, you may play an additional land this turn.
She is the lover of all things that grow in the earth, and all their countless forms she holds in her mind.
2/2

Quote:
Descend Upon
Enchantment (C)
At the beginning of combat on your turn, target creature you control gains menace and haste until end of turn.
At times the Valar may clothe themselves in their own thought, made visible in forms of majesty and dread.
Given that menace is so new, this not existing doesn't really surprise me.

Quote:
Hallowed Dormancy
Instant (C)
Tap all creatures that entered the battlefield this turn. They don’t untap during their controllers’ next untap steps.
"They shall sleep now in the darkness under stone, and shall not come forth until the Firstborn have awakened upon Earth; and until that time thou and they shall wait, though long it seem."
—Eru Ilúvatar

Quote:
Ñoldorian Jewel-Wright
Creature – Elf (U)
When ~ enters the battlefield, create a colorless artifact token with "Sacrifice this artifact: Produce one mana of any color".
It came to pass that the masons of the house of Finwë, quarrying in the hills after stone first discovered the earth-gems, and brought them forth in countless myriads.
2/1
Still playing around with "wonky" mana producing wordings.

Quote:
Heed the Call
Sorcery (R)
Search your library for a creature card, reveal it, and put it into your hand.
Those that had courage, and stayed, perceived swiftly that the Great Rider was no shape out of darkness; for the light of Aman was in his face, and all the noblest of the Elves were drawn towards it.
Pretty much as posted on the first page. I needed a rare so that's basically why it's not an uncommon. It doesn't have the shuffle spelled out since I plan to have that be an automatic action whenever a library is searched, and this is rare so it wouldn't need that reminder text.

I'd rather this card was called "Canasta" because the card game canasta (of which I am quite fond) centers on, each turn, drawing two cards and discarding a card.
Also, I'd make this black.

I think it should be blue. Red doesn't get traditional looting any more (I think they're OK with it on hybrid cards though?), it gets discard then draw. Black doesn't get looting at all. Blue obviously does. Ideas Unbound is a similar effect.

I like it monored - for the "right here, right now" feel and hellbent support.
Ironically, I think that while this, "looting" version should be red, "rummaging" version should be blue, b cause blue is a color of instants and cards with Flash - specifically what this card supports.

Insomniac Hallucinations
Enchantment (U)
At the beginning of your upkeep, discard a card.
At the beginning of your end step, draw a card.

Wow, I should've put this card into my UB instant-control intro deck. If I'd ever make an add-on to that set, this card is a must.

That being said...

Game of Bolas
Enchantment (R)
At the beginning of each upkeep, draw a card.
At the beginning of each end step, discard a card.

That being said...

Game of George R. R. Martin
Enchantment (R)
At the beginning of each phase, draw a card.
At the end of each phase, discard a card.

This doesn't fit the brief of the thread because I'm not surprised it hasn't been printed before. But I like it enough to post it and know it's not really enough for its own thread. So I'm posting it here instead. So there.

Celestial Horizon is probably too strong. They barely do noncreature ramp at 2 now. Let alone at 1.

If you believe I retroactively defined the purpose of this thread to oppose you then you might be a bit paranoid.
