All I'll say is, if Serra planeswalker card, it NEEDS Rebecca Guay doing her art.

I want a mono-:w: midrange Angel deck. That would be sweet.

I think at this point, A LOT of people (myself included) will be disappointed if the Serra card isn't playable as a commander, which would leave a Commander product as the best choice in my opinion. I totally want more planeswalker commanders anyway, especially old pre-Mending 'walkers. Being your commander feels very Oldwalker-ly to begin with.

I'd prefer Rebecca Guay as the artist as well.

Yeah, Rebecca Guay would be my first choice, not that I have anything to do with such decisions. I really loved how she illustrated Serra and Feroz in the Homelands comic, particularly the back cover.

Hey Ethan, since we have you here, can you maybe explain Bolas' plan to us? I'm having a very hard time squaring the circle of Bolas showing up trying to solve his Mending problem and ending up with a 60 year scheme to build a small army of rock zombies instead. This doesn't feel like the Xanatos pileup of plots that I would expect of Bolas. It just feels like we were expecting one problem to be solved only to instead find out a whole unrelated scheme was going on.

I can't really explain things without revealing future story information. I've typed like four different responses, all likely to get me yelled at by somebody at work. Sorry! I promise that nearly all of it will make sense eventually. Except that one thing. Whoooo, that one thing just doesn't make sense no matter how I try to think about it!

Well... that sorta thing happens.
Regardless, we really do appreciate the time you take to interact with us Ethan.
It means a lot to have someone come down to these parts and talk to us. We're a pretty small group, so it counts a lot.

We work slowly to make a quality product, but that means we aren't as nimble as we otherwise could be.

There's a lot of enthusiasm in R&D for making a Serra planeswalker card. It's just a matter of finding the right product to deploy her in.

It's just a sad reality. Gisa afterall, as popular as she was took 3 years from her initial appearance in Innistrad before ending up as a card for Commander. Factor in the "right product" requirement... yeah, make my waiting into a decade tops.

But as I said, I can only hope. It would be an affront to my Lady if one of her main virtues I myself cannot follow. :tired:

As much as I would love her to end up illustrating Serra "if ever" *knocks on wood*, is she even open to illustrating back for Magic? I think it's much harder for the artists of past to come back, even if there have been some unique cases like Kev Walker, Terese Nielsen and Mark Poole.

My artist choices are:

From the Magic Early Days: Mark Zug > Rebecca Guay > Donato Giancola

Recent: Karla Ortiz > Cynthia Sheppard > Jason Chan
